New Vegas was much more popular on PC than Fallout 3, so it shouldn't surprise anyone. The problem is the massive horde of retards which mostly resides on consoles.

http://steamspy.com/search.php?s=fallout

Fallout 3: Score rank: 59% Userscore: 84% Metascore: 91% Players total: 1,632,236 ± 34,319 (83.17%)
New Vegas: Score rank: 95% Userscore: 96% Metascore: 84% Players total: 3,534,105 ± 50,314 (87.4%)

Just look at the difference in journoscore vs userscore. Obviously nothing going on behind the scenes when Bethesda is involved..

Huge sigh

I think most of us knew once Fallout went 3D shooter with added console charm this would happen. I was thinking of buying it over Xmas with a 25%-33% sale price. Now - reading all the reviews it breaks my heart that this beloved franchise has been Electronic Arsed.

Daggerfall and Morrowind had a lot of charm and were of interest - but now - look what they have done!

This may have put the final nail in the coffin of first person ARPG like SS2, Ultima Underworld and Arx.

The wheel of time turns full circle and I find myself really enjoying WL2 and PoE.

Looking forward to reading the "I played F4 for 100 hours and it was crap"

We need someone to man up and save this game -

Tolerable. At least some gamers seem to have some functional brain cells left.

Tolerable? A big step forward. People are criticizing more substantial things than bugs and visuals. In the long run it may mean the general audience is somehow maturing. It would be ironic if all those paid shills talking about f4 as a sign computer games are maturing were right but not in the way they were paid for :)

Now if only those brain dead journalists would stop being greedy corrupt shitheads and at least attempt to make objective reviews.

To the people who are saying that the game itself is only designed for 4gb system, you're wrong. Game is 64-bit. On Skyrim if you hit 3.5gb of memory usage, the game would just crash.

My thoughts are that the game itself is fun. I've got about 15 hours, the quest design exists only to trigger the part of the brain that has fun. Overall it is not a game to be deeply analyzed, but a game to be played.

Aesthetically, it looks great, the colour work and the design of the destroyed world is fantastic. Sure, technically it's not ground-breaking, but it looks nice on the eyes.

Time after time, after time, after time there is a big dissonance in a way players and "critics" are rating games. Not in a healthy way like in other mediums where critics have more experience and thus higher expectations. It's both sick and apparent. Someday bubble may burst.

You can mod short barreled pistol grip everything I think. I haven't found a gauss rifle yet, but looking forward to bringing back the gauss pistol.
