In two short months taxalot will finish his transformation into the Volourn of Mythic, hatefully lashing out on everyone who would dare to besmirch the name of the newest Ultima while using abysmal grammar and spelling of a drunk dyslexic. He'll also get a tattoo of scorpion on his ass.

Wow, that was awesome. Respect to Jeff Skalski.

One thing though, taxalot got his package in the mail within 24 hours of making the scorpion post, yet he also mentioned he lives across the world. So how did thye get the package to him so fast?

This is actually a very valid question Mother Russia .

The package was just a letter. I actually double checked the forum to see if I had mentioned scorpions earlier, but I apparently didn't. And I do not remember mentioning it earlier.

There is no date nor timestamp on the enveloppe ; since I live in Paris, that is, close to the International Airport, I suspect it's possible for me to have gotten it if it was signed and mailed right after the post, but that it is still very confusing. I can also assure I did not make this up and that the public tweet prove it :? Still , the plot thickens :rpgcodex:

Better start carrying a baton in pocket. Avoid lonely walks and places where nobody can hear you scream.

Oh gawd, I think I know, this is very embarassing :( I might have mentioned when I gave them the email adress that I hoped no scorpions were involved. This is actually a more likely explanation now since Mother Russia mentioned that problem.

Still, I did not mention the forums in my tweet to Skalski ; he did. Still confusing

It must be incredibly demoralizing to be a dev on a game such as this and read the comments here. I saw Trent Oster comment on twitter about reading negative feedback and having it make him feel bad enough to quit working for the night on Baldur's Gate ENCHANTED EDITION. Even Wasteland 2 and Project Eternity have people trolling and bitching about the games. But that taxalot letter was pretty cool.

Likely explanation: he drew the scorpion after the emailbut he also does read this very thread. Sorry for the hyper enthusiasm bros, it has been a tough IRL week.

In fact, it was a very brilliant — though probably spontaneous — piece of PR work by Skalski, and earned him some kudos from the RPG Codex crowd.
It did?

RPG Codex, you disgust me.

Yes, those necrophiliac hacks working on Ultima Forever are quick and witty. But that still only makes them quick and witty necrophiliac hacks, creating a game marketed to pubescent males while taking advantage of a deceased series once renowned for its maturity and depth. The situation is only made more disgusting by the corpse's father, who insists that copulation with the body is A-ok by him as long as he gets to be in the photo op.
