Well, there are two main possibilities:

1. It gets randomly announced next month to probably get a November/December release
2. It gets announced during the Game Awards and it's only released in 2025

On SteamDB DD2 got updated quite frequently a few hours ago, so it's strange there are no announcements to be made.
I'm assuming since Japan doesn't care that much about Dragon's Dogma, Capcom is going to hold a separate, global presentation for the DLC?

Now that Itsuno left I kinda gave up hope on Capcom ever doing anything DD or DMC-related. I bet the management was like "finally this guy who kept insisting on making those weird games only a handful of autists played left, time to make more RE remakes".

Yes, I know Dark Arisen was directed by a different guy, but I doubt Capcom just decided on their own to make an expansion to a game with lukewarm reception without Itsuno's meddling.

DD2 and MonsterHunter games are using the same engine. Considering this it's actually a sound decision to do a DD game. Maybe one Capcom executive is not completly retarded.

edit:
RE Engine, also known as Reach for the Moon Engine, is a video game engine created by Capcom. Originally designed for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, it has since been used in a variety of the company's games, such as Devil May Cry 5, Monster Hunter Rise and Street Fighter 6. The engine is a successor to MT Framework, Capcom's previous engine

RE engine produces the best visuals imo. Say what you want about performance but those graphics are slicker than pig snot. I ain't seen anything more visually impressive than Jill's turd cutter bouncing around in RE3make ugh lawd.

Too bad it can't handle more than five NPCs in town. The fact that they still haven't fixed NPCs spawning a few meters in front of you means it's a hard limitation of the engine, not a choice.

Huge fan of the first one and Dark Arisen, huge fan of Itsuno. I have yet to play 2 even though I bought it on launch, I only made a character and had a sperg meltdown about the implied lore (I first made a beastren then a human and backed up the save, I discussed this earlier on in this thread). I was tired from open world games at the time but now I am hype to truly get into it. Might wait for DLC announcement and play it all together.

Very excited about Itsuno's new studio and game :incline: :-D

Played the game with a hard difficulty mod from the get go and had a blast. Got my ass handed to me on a regular basis right till the end. Balance felt on point. Highly recommended even as a first time through.

That's the one, though I see it's been expanded quite a lot since the first iteration.

And you played on this mod's "Hard" mode or on the "Normal" one? I see it considers Capcom's default mode "Easy" mode in the mod.

I played like this:

Mobs deal 2x damage, me and my pawns deal 0.8x. Stagger for enemies smth around 0.3x and half Exp and DCP gain.

You may play around with the stagger values and make it more generous though, sometimes I felt the enemies were too stoic.

Another thing is with half Exp and DCP gain you will only be able to reach max level for one vocation per playthrough, so if it's important for you to switch between different vocations you may make it more generous as well.

I payed as a warrior from start till the end and the progression felt pretty satisfying to me without switching vocations, like playing an old school rpg

Another patch out.
Apparently the Dragonsplague killing everyone in the world was a new bug, not a feature.

Modifications and Fixes

  • Fixing issue where, when an Archer Pawn uses Torrent Shot while in battle, the move was cancelled.
  • Fixing issue where, when a Sorcerer Pawn got into the hot springs, they would get stuck using Galvanize.
  • Fixing issue where the character display in the status screen and in shops wouldn't reflect the Posture parameter set in the Character Editor.
  • Fixing issue where the Dragonsplague's devastating calamity would affect regions outside the town where the player is staying.

Enjoy!
Vermund is great, but by the time you move on to Batthal the game is nearly over and you'll start to realize just how unfortunately unfinished that entire section of the game really is

Edit: oh and don't forget that the "load at inns" option really does load your last inn save, deleting any progress you may have made after it

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Fighter + Archer. Welcome to the club :D

Loved the Fighter finishers and dynamic, aggressive combat.

Enjoyed less how easy enemies ragdolled my char before late game and dwarven forged stuff.
