Looks like a mix between Demon/Dark Souls and Monster Hunter with some open world exploring. Looks neat.
This is what I'm hoping for. I also heard a guy (developer?) mention somewhere that there's some shadow of the collosus influence as well, in regards to climbing on particularly large enemies instead of hacking at their ankles.

I'm hoping it actually has some proper difficult content though. I also heard some crap about making it easy for people who don't want to play an action game, so your party members can basically kill shit for you. Hopefully that's only on an easier difficulty or there's a major side/post game with much more difficult stuff to fight.
I hope for hard game setting and the ability to solo the whole game...those companions seems pointless to me.

Too many games are ruined by this; lots of content and shit you can engage in, but no incentive at all to do so, because you auto-win anyway. Let's hope it's not true, or as you say, only apply to some easy mode.

Interesting gameplay bits:

I hate how its edited, never showing the full sequences, like what happens once the dragon you are hanging on flys, but it shows lot of promise. And I like that he dies sometimes.

A good Dark Souls/Monster Hunter meets Skyrim with some Shadown of the Colossus game seems to be the case.

here's 2 streams with less edited gameplay (warning: long)
stream 1:
stream 2: part 1 , part 2
video quality isn't the best and they speak in some alien language not meant for the people of the earth but you can see that this is the game Kondoms of Derpalur wanted to be. i just hope there'll be some kind of PvP multi or at least a "hard difficulty" setting

Watched a portion of the last video there. Hmm, one thing that concerns me- it seems the NPCs are voiced by english voice actors. Bad ones. With bad writing. Which I'm sure isn't a problem for the japanese guys playing it (hard to spot bad acting/writing in another language), but if they keep the same voices when they port it over and don't have an option to disable them, I'm going to get sick of the mudcrabesque ramblings very very quickly.

THEY HATE FIRE.

All the best games have voice acting by the five Japanese residents who speak perfect english (but can't act)!

Shenmue
Metal Wolf Chaos
Ace Combat
Boktai
And of course
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean

It makes me sad that PC owners get shit like oblivion, skyrim, mass effect, but not this.

levitate? :incline:
things get more dangerous (and actually dark!) at night? :incline:
if hear that correctly, partial heal only with spells and full heal only in town? :incline:
the pawns and classes/jobs system also seems pretty cool (vids on that same yt channel go a bit more into detail)

if the quest design and story are at least decent, this could be one of the best ARPGS and likely the top contender for GOTY. too bad the pc master race won't be playin' it :smug:

hopefully that in-combat party banter text can be turned off

Because certain PCtards then complain WHY DO I NEED TO USE A CONTORLLER TO PLAY A PC GAME U GUISE R DUM.

And thus why we don't get good action games like this, Devil May Cry (ahem, a GOOD port of a GOOD one of the series), etc.

Which one is that? DMC 3 and 4 are both on the PC and both are good, but 3's port sucks shit tho. And I played them with a keyboard and it was fine after i got used to it, don't see what this KEYBOARD VS CONTROLLER WHICH IS BETTER AND WHY? DISCUSS! shit is all about just use what's most convenient for you and that's that.

Fuck! Why can't we have nice things? What's up with japs only seeing consoles in front of them? Meanwhile we have to do with Ass Effect and Twitcher.
At least Dark Souls is coming for PC.

Japanese PC games have comparatively heavy indie competition I think. So the big devs don't bother since indies can't move to consoles, and instead of being dicks about the copyrights they just enjoy the free advertiseing. And of course almost no japanese indie stuff gets translated, even unofficially.

Not to say that theres competition in the same circles (indies can't put out big 3D shit that easily obviously) but that japanese PC games have a very different niche from consoles. You don't see something like Dark Souls very often on PC for the same reasons you don't often see something like Starcraft or Fallout on a console these days. Everyone who wants those kinds of games simply buys the appropriate system.

Yes. If this game was published by EA, IGN would have a giant preview mini-site.
