I guess with all the porting of DD that a sequel is planned. Hope it will be awesome!

Capcom just needs to be more like Western AAA devs. Talk up your game as the hottest shit coming out and kiss game journo ass. Image is what matters, not actual content. See also Hollywood, music industry, Instagram celebrity. For the first game they made the mistake of saying "Our game is inspired by Skyrim" instead of "Our game destroys Skyrim!"

Maybe it'll even be streamlined to attract a much wider audience.
DD2, now with all the jrpg cliches!

If Itsuno's other games are any indication I doubt it'll get streamlined. Given stuff like the Styles system in DMC and the Groove system in Capcom vs SNK 2 I'd be a little surprised if stuff didn't get more free-form and you got more choices in the next one.

"Numerous titles", now that's interesting. I'd guess a new Street Fighter, (since a new console generation is coming up) whatever Itsuno's new game is, (probably Dragon's Dogma 2) and whatever the RE2 remake guys are doing next (in that toco toco doc one of them said they wanted to do something like GTA) but I wouldn't exactly call that numerous. Wondering what other stuff they've got in the works? Especially since all their stuff now is going to be in-house in Japan.

obviously RE8 and REmake 3.

I dont see any reason for a remake of RE3. They already did Nemesis with this last one, and if you make the dodge better you're basically just going to end up at RE6...which would be a funny turn of events. Also 3 wasn't as big as either of the first two, or the ones after it. I think if RE6 is basically what they'd end up with they may as well just do some RE8. But who knows, maybe they do do it. There seems to be a market for it I guess so they probably do. If they do it though I'm guessing it's going to get some radical changes to differentiate it from REmake 2. I could see it becoming a lot more open, like a bigger version of the village in RE4 where you can jump in and out of building and block windows and doors. Ok, I guess I'm talking myself into a RE3 remake.

I'm sure RE8 is happening, but I wonder who's doing it? I doubt it's the 7 people, despite the acclaim it got, it also sold less than 5 and 6...pretty sure it sold less than REmake 2 too. Funnily enough the RE7 thing I heard the best stuff about was the really action oriented End of Zoe DLC. It also sounded like the REmake2 guys wanted to do something else, (or at least one of them) so if they were allowed it's probably not them. But they've likely got someone doing RE8. Wouldn't be too surprised if they've got another Marvel Vs Capcom coming in RE engine too. It'd be nice if the Japanese side of things actually did a Dead Rising, and it'd sure as hell be interesting to see that in the RE Engine.

I'm kind of surprised with two Jurassic World movies that have made over a billion bucks each that they still haven't brought Dino Crisis back. Maybe they're working on a new one of those.

RE2 remake sold like hotcakes, and Nemesis (the monster) is like the embodiment of RE as a series. Every gamer knows who Nemesis is, even if they didn't play any of RE games.

Nah, EoZ is boring crap.
Best stuff about RE7 was its first half, where you explore Baker mansion.

You know, I'd of said the same thing about Nemesis before. But when Nemesis got in Marvel Vs Capcom 3 I remember seeing a lot of people on forums confused as to why that RE character was the one to make it in. Now I thought that was utterly bizarre, but it seems with a lot of people Nemesis isn't looked at like he had been.

The original RE2 on the PSX also sold quite a bit better than RE3, and is far more fondly remembered. Just because the remake of the biggest of the original style RE sold really good isn't a guarantee a remake of 3 will. But like I ended up saying by the end, I can see some things that could be done with RE3 to make it worth remaking. They also have a lot of stuff made for it already because of REmake 2, so I'm sure that's a plus for Capcom.

a lot of last gen restrictions in this game. Loading between areas, loading between towns, console UI that needs too much back and forth pressing just to equip shit or open map to set waypoints.

Fighting Cyclops is fun though especially with jumping and grabbing on them, feels less of a gimmick than Monster Hunter, but fighting lots of trash mob wolves isn't. So far leveling only allows you to buy skills not pick stats. Bandit mobs are strong as fuck by being sponges of health. One save files already deleted my initial save so I restarted the game. So far all quests are fetch quests or "go here kill X spiders/bandits/cyclops". It's fun fighting things and running around, hopefully it doesn't get boring.

The notice board quests can easily be ignored (unless there's a particular reward you covet), though you might as well select the "kill x of enemy type y" quests and allow them to complete themselves naturally without extra effort on your part. The meat of the game consists of the main series of quests and a handful of notable side quests, not anything that appears on a notice board.

Also, whether you're playing on PS3 or PC, it's possible to create copies of your save file.

Yeah, when it comes to the killing quest on the board you may as well just take all of them at once because you'll just naturally end up doing them while on your way to a main mission or doing one of the escort missions from the board.

Unfortunate events led me to restart the game again and it's finally clicked with me.

It's like risen with better combat, prettier world and more diverse bestiary and it even has lizard men carrying weapons.

I stumbled upon one dungeon called the water gods alter and it was pretty good but I couldn't complete it because there's a locked door with an incision.

So far the bosses & pawns have been quite interesting. I've fought 4 cyclops, one with an armored head. I didn't realize until the third that there are actual benefits to grappling this one eyed fuck. If you grapple the hand and damage it enough, the cyclops will drop his club and only use his arms for a while. My pawns kept screaming to attack his face, so I didn't know how until I jumped from grappling one body part then grabbed his head shadow of the colossus style. Attacking his eye causing him to cry in pain and slow down his attacks and you can break his tusks for loot. The armored faced cyclops was too protected for me to do this.

Do these enough and he'll fall to his knees and leave himself open. Once the bosses get down to their last health bar they get frenzied and start attacking wildly.

It was cool fighting a cyclops but hopefully it isn't used too frequently. They seem to be best friends with every group but the player. They help bandits, goblins & harpies.

The chimera is much wilder and complex. Three heads. Snake head spits poison and covers area around the chimera with poison. Goat head casts ice & fire spells. Lion body is very quick, lunges and pounces on the player with a roar that knocks everyone back.

You can grapple and cut off the snake tail removing the poison opportunity. Kill the beast head which reduces its use of spells and eventually knocks down the chimera. Finally you have the lion's body who I found at as I was fighting is especially weak to fire around its head. My main pawn covered my sword in fire and I set attacked the lions face, when the lion roars to throw me and my pawns off the fire explodes on his mane and the entire body catches on fire damaging like 30% of its health bar.

The pawns are a mixed bag. I've realized that you have to keep switching pawns because they don't level up. I was a level 12 at the time and my shitty level 6 pawns kept dying.
Luckily pawns your level or lower don't cost a thing to recruit so I didn't mind. My big problem with the pawn system is lack of control.

Even if I sit in the chair and answer the questions for what my pawn should be like, it still doesn't perform as well as I like. I want my dumbass mage to always hang back away from the enemy but that doesn't always happen and she keeps getting damaged. I'd like the recruited pawns to use the healing herbs I give them but that never happens at all.

Worst of all is when I entered the water gods dungeon, a saurian was in the water so my pawns were hostile and tried to attack even though they couldn't hit it. My main pawn apparently fell into water behind my back and I got a message saying I should go to a rift stone so I reloaded my save. Same shit happens but luckily she didn't fall, this time she just didn't help at all against the cyclops boss in the dungeon. She just walked around watching us fight.

I understand that it would slow down battle but so does going into a menu to heal.

I hope as the game progresses there's a bit better rewards. So far all I get are some animal parts that can be used to upgrade gear and no weapon loot and only one metal boot after about 6 hours of play. I did get 100,000 gold from one of the notice board quests.

I had some really good starting armor in my item storage and fully upgraded its the best thing I've gotten even in Gran Soren, which sucks because I spent 60k on armour that was worse just to end up selling it. In gran soren more armor popped up in my item storage which was odd, it gave my main pawn some good mage clothes though.

I've also found one fast travel stone but it says it's one time use so I'm saving it. I'd hate to keep running back and forth everywhere.

Finally, this game has random loot and very quickly respawning mobs. The former has already made me lose some good loot, the latter means really annoying wolf/ bandits/ goblin fights. It's cool that goblins change positions and camps at night but fighting them in general is bad.

Overall, I like the game now and it's caught my attention and made me play it more than I've played nioh. Let's hope for a dragon's dogma 2.

Some cool stuff to give you ideas:

If fatass characters (or more than one) grapple a cyclops leg, they can put it off balance so it just kind of wobbles helplessly for a while. There's also a fairly intuitive way to get the helmet off the armored ones.
There's a sword in the stone on the map that can be searched for random, potentially pretty nice weapons.
There's a den of female bandits that only let women pass, and you can crossdress.
You can betray quest givers with interesting results.
The wakestones aren't just for reviving yourself.

Oh, and the armor in your storage was probably OP DLC items.

Yea this game is nice when you don't take it too seriously. And when you don't use OP DLC armor.

Has the gog version been updated to match the steam version? When do I get to expand my class/have an advanced build? I know there are more characters than the first 3 you choose and I know you can change your class now. I want to use a greatsword or great hammer but I can't. I know there are 9 classes in total, so is it about finding a quest?

The armor isn't OP, the chest piece & arm grieves are slightly better than hide armor while the sword, shield, boots, bottoms, shirt, and helmet in Gran Soren is better than anything I found in my storage. If I didn't use the DLC armor, what armor would I be using at this point in time?

Does this have to do with the bandit chief maul? At first I talked to him and he didn't say shit, I mistakenly attacked and killed him and his crew. They were weaker than the other bandits on the road so I reloaded the save. Giving him skulls lets him like you but didn't help at all. Later when I came back a few levels higher and beat the chimera, he gave me a tome for a quest after I gave him a dagger and skull because he wanted steel. He still has a red marker over his head meaning he still has quests for him.

Does anyone enjoy any other class other than Assasin?

I had a blast first time through playing as one, but later playthrough's not only showed the game to be shallow, but were also a struggle coz the classes I played as were boring by comparison.
