Definitely weren't picked up by the pawns either. I triple checked, and they weren't in storage after either. I killed another golem though and got the rewards from it.

Also, I used the sacrifice arrow to one shot what might have otherwise been a rather tough boss fight. Felt so fucking badass.

Quick question: I'm about to wrap up with the wyrm hunt and I'm finishing up all my quests. Do you think it's worthwhile completing the handful of escort quests before moving on with the story? Unless the rewards are extra amazing or the locations you bring them to are really neat, I'm thinking about just skipping those (and the whole "kill x crows" type quests).

If you see Beren's escort quest up there, do it, as he gives you a fucking awesome 2 h sword that will last you into the level 40s.

Fucking Cockatrice. First of all, I kept ferry-stoning back into the castle... Only to try traveling back one time and finding out the guards outside had petrification removal potions =\ Then I still managed to fail at killing it conventionally. So instead, I climbed on a rooftop, and rained scrolls and explosive/flaming potions on it. Damn did that do the trick.

As a sidenote, should any of you be interested in getting your pawns hired, share your IDs (PSN in my case) here or through PMs.

Mine is Jotape_x, so hire my goddamn mage.

Post level and skills too. I'm very picky when it comes to pawns. I can spend a long time looking for just the right ones.

Eh, skills are pretty much in a constant state of flux for me (in the lvl 30's). At least you can pull up the pawns we list in that thread and check them out yourself.

Also, does anyone know how the amount of rift crystals you get is determined? I assume it's just based on how long your pawn is used by someone, but I really have no clue. I just know that I'll get a couple of 200-300 RC pawn returns per day and once every couple days I'll get something like 5000-10000 RC from a single pawn return.

Also also, I was in the Watergod's Alter with a couple of freshly hired pawns the other day. We cleared it almost completely out until we encountered a cyclops next to a bottomless pit. Almost immediately, both my hired pawns got knocked into the pit, kicking them out of my realm immediately. My pawn (mage) and I (strider) finished off the cyclops on our own and finished up the dungeon on our own, making me feel pretty badass. There's not really a point to this story other than this game can be badass sometimes.

Does anyone know if this game will get the Dark Souls treatment? As in, has there been any hint at a PC version?

Found out a good trick to make escort quests easier: Escorts will teleport to your position if they get too far away, just like your pawns. So you can use ferrystones, or when you find a big group of enemies, start running through them. Your pawns will get there ahead of the escort, and by the time the escort gets to the enemies you should be far enough away from him to yank him to safety, probably out of aggro range of the enemies as well.

Only the times in which you got the 5000-10000 RC were actual players, ie, only when you get rating and knowledge. The other times (getting gifts and a few hundred RC but no rating or knowledge) seem to be triggered by the game as a sort of appeasement for those players whose pawns aren't being summoned.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.

Although now my pawn feels unwanted :(

Is your pawn a support mage? I think there is an over abundance. I started a new game with a tank pawn (now that I know I can get a support mage whenever I want), and he's already been summoned more than my level 35ish mage was.

Anecdotal evidence seems to suggest females get more summons than males. Personally, I like having a party of that looks like they can wreck shit more than having three lolis/waifus follow me around.

I found a place in the game where a pawn recommended having an all female party. Dunno if there's a male equivalent quest/advantage (maybe ogres are easy to kill with a sausage fest?)

As in, THE dragon? AFAIK, the only ones that dragonforge your items are...

the boss dragon at the temple and Ur-Dragon.

Must be a small random chance. I killed that one twice in my first playthrough and never got a forge out of it.

All right its fucking damn good game, if you hesitate to get a console now you get two reason to get it. I have not had that much fun since dark souls, its an action rpg thats fore sure , much easier than DS, but much harder than lets say skyrim. Pretty much everything about the game is positive , i am not even getting framerates issues and slow down, no idea why, maybe it gets better on latest model of pS3, i dont know.Dont hesitate guys, its so much , so much more fun to play this than the latest bunch of pc games . Only thing i missing is a big manual with all the classes skills , number of character points in total by the end and a cloth map.

I concur, the game is really good.

Though there are some...weird things that are not clear as to what is happening.

For example, at one point in the game you receive a "Wyrm Hunt License". This license apparently lets your receive 4 or 5 quests from a knight outside the castle and it supposedly gives you a store discount. I don't think any of that actually requires the license.

Now here is weird part, after doing one or two of those quests, the knight then tells you that you can now meet the duke, but you will have to give up the license and any quest you are undertaking will be forfeit.

I finally did that, and while I did lose the license, none of my quests were cancelled.

Crafting also seems to be of dubious value. I basically just pick everything up and then shove it into the inn storeroom.

Still, as my wife would attest to, this is the best game I have played on the xbox since either Dark Souls or Red Dead Redemption... maybe THE BEST game. Yeah, there are some rough edges here and there, but so much of it is just absolutely compelling.

If you don't have the license in your inventory, he won't talk to you about the quests.

People that leave default Pawn reviews with no comment really grind my gears. Also, my tank pawn keeps getting hired at a rate that far exceeds the support mage pawn I had before I restarted. I restarted as a Strider, the lack of HP makes the combat more exciting (so far).

I think losing the license only cancels quests from NPCs, not Notice Board quests. Also, you can do all of the Wyrm Hunting quests before meeting the duke if you'd like.

Calling this game the best is a bit of a stretch at least for me. Nothing will come close to Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. Still, this is a game of great value, technical issues aside. The only thing that really pisses me off, aside from the wonky aiming, are flying monsters. Herp derp hey Arisen why don't you just watch me fly around for a while. Don't I look cool when I swoop around? Grrrr. Also had a Gryphon attack me and then fly away, never to be seen again. This shit doesn't happen with normal monsters who don't possess something as shitty as wings. Next time I'll burn them.

Solution to your problem with monsters flying away: Great Sacrifice Arrow. Dead monsters can't fly anywhere.
