Gamekult was once a reputed game journo site in France.
What? Since when?

It always was a SJW website full of leftists who dared to ask people to pay for their shitty reviews. Fuck this site. The forum discussions were worse than on Resetera.

Speaking of BG3, wait till the weekend and it will have more current players than Failguard's all-time peak.

I mean, this has already happened. The peak of DATV users was on November 3rd. On the same day and time, Baldur's Gate 3 had over 10 thousand more players. And the game hadn't even gone on sale on Steam yet.

The difference will likely grow even larger, considering that Veilguard is losing around 2 to 3 thousand users daily, and BG3 will probably gain some.

This is not something to celebrate. BG3 may not be a total dumpsterfire like this thing but it's still made to appeal to the same crowd of disgusting degenerates.

Outside of the obvious gameplay differences between BG3 and DAV, I'd say BG3 also knows how to cater to a non-Tumblr, non-queer and non-neurodivergent audience. You can customize BG3 essentially how you wish (in terms of diversity that is, the content is still awful either way), DAV not so much.

Just updating everyone that at least out here in Bumfuckistan (although I suspect it's actually most everywhere, since last time around it looked like we all had the same store), VG has slipped out of the Steam top 10, crashed past top 15 and is currently clinging to life at 17, getting soundly thumped by Planet Coaster 2 and Farming Simulator 25.

For having spent a lot of time around gamers who certainly were not far-leftist morrons, at the time, we all knew Gamekult had reviewers who were more critical and severe than other sites. Reading their critics in addition to a few others would help find how good or not a game was. By contrast, JVC was notorious to be too leniant at the time. I and a few others might have never been able to properly see their biases due to a lack of experience in the political field.

I stopped reading the site long ago when they decided to fire one of their best for no good reasons(he gave a 6/10 to DAO iirr). I still wonder if he ever had an account on the Codex... Proably not :-D

On the matters of forums, I was more of a Jeuxvideo.com guy(my pals too). I gave GK's forums a good look around 2011-2012, never touched it again for a pletora of reasons. The last time I read the comment section of one of their article(2016-2017), it was full of far-leftists. So yeah, fuck a good chunk of their community.

Jason Schreier is INCREDIBLY well-informed when it comes to the industry, so if he deleted his gloating, things must be pretty fucking awful for Veilguard. I've said earlier that Veilguard will do okay, and then I've defended the numbers it got by comparing it to DOS2 and Jedi Survivor, but looks like I was wrong. Jason knows better than I do for sure.

Man wtf. They're leaving no part of EA's asshole unlicked.

Could you imagine if this game was actually good? They would never stop pushing this down our throats.

It's down to #18 on the global top sellers on Steam with no competition in sight. It's over for Veilguard. Stalker 2 is going to outsell it. That's how bad this is for BioWare.

the number of reviews alone is pretty telling. No Rest For the Wicked (i'm not saying that this is a good game btw), an indie game, got almost the same amount of reviews in the first two weeks of early access. it sold around 500 000 copies, i believe.

Best patch notes ever written:

Lo! Gather thee round, good folk and friends,
A week has flown, and now our tale extends.
Since Dragon Age: Veilguard did make its mark,
We bringeth news to kindle yet the spark.

Whether on thy path, or new to tread,
Our patch this day, with bug-fix thread,
Improves the ways thou journey’s spent,
And more shall come by future’s bent.

N7 Day’s Great Array

Rook’s garb hath gained a coat of grace,
An N7 guise within the Lighthouse place.
Yet mere adornment, not for strife or fight,
’Tis fashion only, a purely cosmetic sight.

Of Bug Fixes and Questing Frees

Hark! The troubles of Nvidia’s might,
Where grayed-out options did dim the light,
Now shan't vex thee, nor cause thee dismay,
For DLSS shines clear as day.

Crashes few, on PC ground,
No more shall cast adventurers down.
XeSS hath gained an updated hue,
To version one-point-three and true.

Customs applied to Inquisitor bold
Shall no longer falter as tales unfold.
And Skill Points fair, for Companions near,
Shall hold steadfast, unfazed by fear.

Approvals now linger on screen with grace,
Till scenes do end and shift their place.
And Harding’s quiver now doth brim
With arrows keen, fierce and grim.

The banter’s flow, both soft and gay,
No longer shall it haste, nor stray.
And Harding’s words, with Taash’s entwine,
Repeat not forever, but hold in line.

Fast travels swift and party change
No more shall break the world’s great range.
For camera’s gaze and mission’s plan
Stay true to form in every land.

Adjustments of Far and Near

Long distances improved with care,
For assets now withhold their flair.
No pop-ins sudden shall mar the view
Of mountains grand and skies of blue.

And textures fair, though once misplaced,
Hath found their form, their beauty graced.
And barriers once absent, lacking guard,
Now halt the path in every yard.

The lip and sync of words unsaid
Hath found its place in scenes long dead.
The sounds of war, the clash of steel,
Balance gained, and made more real.

The voice within the helm still rings,
When armor shifts and new gear brings.
Objectives clear, and markers true,
No longer lost to wandering view.

Of Fiends and Battles Grim

Iron Veil's apparitions rise,
To Razikale they bring demise.
Entropic spheres, once slipping free,
Now cling to wall and ceiling glee.

A Taunt once lost in silent fray
Doth hold till enemies turn away.
For Rogues, with bows drawn back in aim,
Now keep their mark, and ne’er misname.

Stat screens detailed, true to read,
Balance tuned for valorous deed.
In skill and fight, adjustments laid,
Till match the vision crafted, weighed.

Of Strange and Subtle Shifts

A Rage Demon’s fiery wrath contained,
To dodge now proper, no terror feigned.
The swift raven’s flight, in Hossberg’s dome,
Slows to shadow, a creature of home.

Strange corpses, creeping on the edge,
Now still, no movements ill or dredge.
And Dalish elf, from guest unkind,
Now true elf form, in heart and mind.

In quests of sea and peaks so high,
No obstacle doth thy journey deny.
The halla’s grace doth walk in place,
And quests once blocked doth end in grace.

The epilogue cards, their timing true,
Bear forth the tale, in proper view.
Necks unbent, not grown amiss,
And NPCs cast not a glance remiss.

For long hair fair, with armor binds,
Floweth free where once confined.
The face’s paint in fairest hues
Now fits, and beauty doth amuse.

Of Fine Details and New Feats Unseen

Venatori crystals, bright in light,
Now fade to black at moment right.
And scroll-wheel’s grace, on sell-screen brought,
For ease of trade hath now been sought.

The journal’s map hath ceased its scroll,
When opened wide, in full control.
And Faction feats, with strength amassed,
Shall earn rewards when cap is passed.

So heed this song, adventurers dear,
For tales untold and fixes clear.
Go forth in Veilguard’s shadowed land,
With courage bold and sword in hand!

Golden Joystick Award for the best patch notes award incoming.

Also, I can't put my finger as to exactly why but I can't stand Jason Schreier. What a clown.
