Fuck you man.

Because there's just nothing more to add - I don't think I've ever seen any of your posts being something else than shitty 4chan memes or just plain fucking retardation, you're like a Korgan that posts less but is somehow a hundred times more annoying.
Well if YOU say so...
Where is your arguments?

Well, just got back from picking up my copy. Now I just hope it runs better than the last EA PC game I bought (Sims 3), which insisted on locking up entirely every 20-30 minutes.

Sims 3, well there's a game the Codex can appreciate. :D

I'll have to wait till thursday or friday to get my copy. From the impressions and reviews it would seem that it'll be at least a decent game.

You haven't played it, you decided you don't like it...good for you, now shut up.

Your gay porn diatribe is worthless. If you've played post impressions...

I'd much rather hear feedback impressions from those who have played.

Alas, we have awoken the mighty BioWare fanboy hordes.

Wow, you just don't get it do you? I don't really care if the game is good or not, but I do care about feedback from those who have played it. Before I spend a penny on DA, and there's no demo...I'd like to hear semi-coherent, thoughtful game impressions. Sadly you're too immature and self consumed to understand. I don't really give a fuck about what you've read or heard about it and your assinine logic.

I've been burned too often on purchases, so thoughtful game impressions matter to me and determine when and if I purchase. So if I buy the game, or not, I'd like some of that decision to be based on feedback from a balanced players perspective...you know pros and cons? You on the otherhand, act like a codex fanboi and are too stupid to know when to shut up, and bash a game you haven't played in a game impressions thread. Get it asshole?

What are the penalties of the injuries?
Loss of ability points, slower attack speed, that sort of stuff.

Details please. How many ability points? How much slower attack speed? Loss of casting ability? For how long? Does it really affect the gameplay?

I mean, ability drain in IE-games didn't really hamper me that much unless it was INT on a mage or STR on a fighter. This penalty could be a gimmick Biotards worship without actually meaning anything reasonable, like the level-scaling which (if Gamestop is to be trusted) is much further ranged than the "1-5" levels some folks wishfully hoped for.

Wiki. Examples: “broken bone” (penalty to dexterity), “torn jugular” (penalty to constitution), “cracked skull” (penalty to cunning), “deafened” (penalty to defense), and “coughing blood” (penalty to fatigue).
I'm early in the game, just trying the different origins and I have yet to recive any injuries so I cant tell, a few ability points doesn't appear to do much difference in combat, but most equipment and skills have ability requirements so I imagine it could be a problem if your strengthor dexterity is damage as you wont be able to equip certain armour and weapons. Using coercion requires high cunning, it might be unavailbe if you've got lowered cunning.

Just got my copy from the store.

Wolves and spiders that drop healing/mana potions.

Well that's the first thing that needs to be modded out.

I think a lot of the hatred comes from the marketing and hype. I get sickened whenever I read a review for a game, and the special background for the review site is a big ad for the game which is being reviewed. As for hyping... it gets to be too much. I wish they could just tell us about the game, not how revolutionary it is. Not how mature and gritty it's suppose to be. I don't give a shit about tits and blood. They're practically staples of video games, but let's not pretend they're mature.

i must say the commercial i saw on sunday was painfully underwhelming.

People responsible for marketing campaign for DA must be hanged by the balls in the main city square, thats for sure.

pros:
lots of blood
a dog that can open doors and drink potions
executing a couple of NPCs during dialogue
trap making
poison making
difficult encounters

cons:
level scaling
auto-regen everything
boring combat compared to D&D
boring magic system compared to D&D
magic spells about on the level of BioShock
terrible voice acting
facepalm worthy dialogue most of the time
crappy uninspired interface
can't attack neutral NPCs
loot glitter
dialogue peppered with modern issues like women's rights and homosexuality
forgettable party members
no environmental interactivity
boring enemies (orcs and bandits)
3D view that requires constant fiddling
boring generic fantasy architecture
visual glitches like weapons and shields just floating a foot behind the character

I'm going to stop now, but whatever else I came up with I'd probably go into 'cons'.

meh. doesn't bother me at all. i'm just saying, i'm already "don't care" about the game after knowing about it but if all i saw was the commercial i'd be "lol wtf is this generic shit?" about the game.

Sounds just like Jade Empire, with the needed setting adaptations. So Bioware not only copy-paste the plot, all the bugs and gameplay flaws follow each game.

No. The first thing that needs modding is yourself for buying that.

But does the camera suck?

I like the camera. If only nwn2 had this.

also not being able to see traps.. this is so far a good thing, when you are not playing or have a thief in your party.

I've been playing it for a while. So far, so meh ... but it does hold a slight glimmer of promise, amidst all the auto-health, auto-mana-regeneration and auto-resurrection.

I want to further explore the choice & consequence department, and see if combat gets to be challenging.

Too early to pass impartial judgement. All I can say is that in the least it catched my attention, unlike other BioWare crap such as Neverwinter Nights, KoTOR, Jade Empire and Mass Effect.

"no environmental interactivity"

Will we ever get games that have this again? Non of the current 3D games seem to have any of it. Your lucky if you get one container in one room you can open.

I used to think its a resource issue with 3d games, but at this point I think they just figure it isnt worth adding all that in.

MAn I miss Ultima VII level of interactivity. Non interactive environments seem cold and dead no matter how nice they look.

My summary of this thread: 30% legitimate conversation about a game, 20% random hate for a game, 50% utter garbage and reactions to said garbage.

I vote we give VD the ban hammer for a month and just "turn the other way" for a while.

So far DA seems to fall in the "good but not great" category, but is it worth a purchase or should one just get a copy from the non-removable inventory?

I would sooner say mediocre then good category based on first impressions here.
