I never saw anyone speak positively about Ken Levin on the Codex. Mainstream press is another story but ironically he is known there because of Bioshit rather than System Shock 2. People like Ken Levin are infuriating because he did demonstrate the ability to churn out something good but is now content of producing shit and basking in the undeserved praise he gets for shitting out what is basically just pretentious drivel.

One thing BioShock did for people was it became that thing that people could point to and say, "See, Mom! It's serious!"

In a sense, although I think it was largely just your typical FPS audience realizing FPS can, in fact, be more than a brown military shooter. It was also most likely their first contact with RPG elements aside from unlocking perks in Call of Duty. You know, kinda like how Oblivion was babby's first RPG for a lot of people.

Ken should do much better in smaller teams. That big Triple-A stuff clearly isn't suited for his training and likings. It's easy to blame how "shit designers have become", but large unwieldy teams can override any individual talent to the detriment. It's the story of any studio that was once great and beloved turning to shit. Only a small number ones, like Arkane can manage to maintain that mid-sized team spirit/creativity paired with a large Triple-A team.

Arkane's games have been steady decline since Arx Fatalis though. +M
Dishonored isn't that much better than Biodrivel. Still a bit better, but decline nonetheless.
