Something that nobody else has commented on - there appears to be no voice acting.
Could just be because it's early in production and they have yet to record. Recording earlier means you have to lock down the script sooner, which can be limiting in a lot of ways.

This particular art style is mostly used when the developers want to "hide" low poly-counts. They're probably trying to have really low system requirements in order to increase the potential audience.

I'm not a fan of the predefined characters but the rest of the game sounds pretty awesome.

Here's hoping the highly interactive environment means different and creative ways to solve quests rather than just LARPing around with a bucket on your head.

It seems to kind of look like NWN but in a higher and better detail. Which is fine. I wonder how much emphasis on "interactivity" they will place on the world? That would be a welcome thing, but could be expensive in the animation department.

I think we need more producers that look like David and less suits in pc game development.

I was just thinking this looks like a more colourful NWN.... I hope there is at least some voice acting......

Divine Divinity had some.

Awesome video!! Three cheers for weather controlling magic (Linear Spells from Ultima 7! :D ) and magick that can affect the environment. graphics look amazing, and turnbased combat looks great. Man, I can't wait for this game!

Does anyone have any info on char gen yet? Will we generate a single char or the entire party?

I can't remember where I read this now, but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that your characters are predefined at the start and you can assign points in the stats/magic schools as you gain levels.

Initially you start with two predefined characters. As you level up you can assign points into the four standard elemental magic schools + thievery and fighting. So 6 skills in total. There are also 4 attributes: str, dex, int and cha, if I recall. You can recruit up to 2 extra mercs to fight along side you, although at this point we don't know how much control you have over them when it comes to leveling up.

well, character system look really underwhelming - even when compared to an action rpg like DKS.

i hope you're wrong :decline:

Yeah, the vid looked good. Now just put in some filters to make it look grim dark halfway relistical instead of bloomtastic plastic world and all is set for our next GOTY :troll:

Graphics look on par with Diablo3, will only need more interesting gameplay to beat it, which is not too hard. So where does this game take place in the Divine Divinity timeline ? Need to figure out which games to finish first :)

It's between Dragon Commander and Divine Divinity.
