That's probably because Brian Fargo is butthurt at D:OS not supporting the Kick It Forward initiative.Obsidian has backed Original Sin, but InXile hasn't yet. What is this treachery ?
They probably don't want to do it, because they aren't fully funded by kickstarter only getting additional funds from it.
But Torment itself is not 100% Kickstarter supported on many levels. Even without considering Fargo's own 100k.
Unfortunately Fargo is now with his nose over most clouds. Between 2 KICKS successfully founded and the 500 interviews thrown around the internet in the last months, I cannot fully condemn him for losing the touch with reality. But it still happens and it is obvious in the cadence of his answers here and there. Have I mentioned the humongous amount of ass-kissing he received lately? I just hope he will deliver what we expect and, who knows, keep delivering afterwards.
As for Larian, they are not in the same West (US) coast cool club. They are cool for us but their Kickstarter is not received by media and most of developer (especially US) community with open arms. It is obvious they dont have the connections (and the name, to be sincere) Fargo or MCA have. As someone said there is almost no notice on the big sites about the last day of the Kickstarter and, in many of them, no mention at all.
I am obviously running off topics here, excuse my noobish ramblings.
Good luck in the last hours Swen and ForkTong and team.
