I'm sure that's the case for some, but it comes off as disingenuous when they have made several revisions on incredibly small details to ensure it keeps the essence of the original while simultaneously change the entire ethnicity of iconic classes.

It's pretty simple really, it's a remaster marketed as staying true to the original. They have even made posts where they revised the look of small details like how a topaz should look or a medium health potion. It's on that level. How then, do you change the assassin who looked Eastern European with blue eyes into a full-blown ching-chong? Why has the Amazon aged 30 years? Really don't understand your point here.

The Greeks loved youth and health, and some degree of nudity is aesthetically consistent and appropriate with the Greco-Roman origin of the Amazon. Edeltraud the retired shot-putter is not. This is, comically, even reflected in the animations(she doesn’t keep her knees up anymore when she sprints, for one) though this is perhaps due to increasing incompetence and ignorance.
