Every flash game has turned into a free to play / fremium / iPhone scam, I went recently on Kongregate and it's just in shambles.
Isn't this the appeal of flash games? Try them right now no waiting or doubting.

The difference is that before you'd got a full game.
Sure it was usually short, but it was the complete package.

Now most games keep trying to get you to buy in-game items, or are "pay to get the full game" scams.

Plus everybody is trying to clone what sells, destroying variety.
Ironic when you realize that many iPhone games ripped-off popular Flash games.

Now Flash games makers are in-turn trying to rip-off those same uncreative copycats.

Worlds End Chapter 1

A darkly comedic turn-based strategy RPG. Learn skills to improve strength and unlock special attacks and abilities. Buy, find and plunder items and equipment. Use terrain, traps, obstacles and even foes' corpses to gain the tactical advantage as you lead Tevoran and Company to questionable victory.

Another series of "P&C Adventure" games, from the same guy that made the Morbid 1-2...

Espionage themed, in a :obviously: Alt History WW1/Dieselpunk/"Mad Science" Setting.

Same Advice as previously:

1.
Play them in order.

2.
If needed, Walkthroughs/Hints can be found here.

Spectromancer - Gathering of Power

In Spectromancer, a fantasy card game, players participate in a magical duel against other mages by strategically summoning creatures and casting spells. Each mage uses five magical elements during a duel – Fire, Water, Air and Earth, plus a fifth related to the specific mage type. Players are able to duel against the computer or against other online players live.

So the game was released for windows back in 2008 according to wikipedia and now some dude/company release it again as a flash game.
There are several game modes, I suggest starting with Single Duel which is a practice mode. You can explore the available mages and their starting decks and choose the one most fitting to your playstyle.

When you are familiar enough you can start the campaign. In total there are 35 battles but the difficulty is not increasing as you progress. A battle may be extremely hard and the next one extremely easy.
There is undoubtedly a randomness involved but tactics and strategy are not completely absent. It reminded me of Puzzle Quest in this regard.
Some battles could not be won without a custom deck. As you progress cards are added to your deck and you can choose to upgrade some of them. When you start, the game picks random cards for you but if you want you can customize this. Definitely a must for some encounters.

Overall it took me almost four hours to complete the game(maybe because of my ineptitude), a rather satisfying duration for a flash game. Art style is good, the cards have their own personality.
There is even a multiplayer mode but you have to download a client and I cannot be bothered to do so in the foreseeable future.

I had immense fun with Moto Trial Fest a while ago.

Start with the first one, it's short and easy. 2 is better, and harder too. If you like it, there's two expansions (Mountain Pack and Desert Pack).

Click here to play on your favorite site.

Oh wait, 3 is out! I'm gonna play that right now. :)

Swords and Potions 2
Totally addicted to this game, can't stop even if I see all the dirty tricks they use. It's a mastery of carrot-on-a-stick gameplay.
Multiplayer game about building and managing your own fantasy shop. F2P with heavy microtransactions, but it's not a pay to win, rather a pay-to-win faster.

  • Manage your shop. You have to upgrade everything (even the fucking plant at the door). Up to you to build your expanding strategy (invest on money making upgrades or get more resource bins so your crafters won't run out of leather? Or invest in chance to double proc the crafting? Or ignore your shop and pour your money into town improvements). The shop space is limited (but you can upgrade that too), so you have to keep focused on your plan. You also have to arrange your facilities in a efficent manner to minimize walk time for your crafters and customers.

  • Manage your crafters. You can spread the crafters and cover every basic need, or specialize with few ones for better recipes. Manage how the crafter combos drain your resources. Obviously you don't want a Blacksmith and a Armorer, but soon the choice becomes more complicated than that, with crafters using different kinds of resources

  • Manage your adventurers. Keep them happy selling the gear they want (every class of adventurer have their gear of choice). So you have an Armorer and a Carpenter, your Priests and Evokers will soon or later hate you. You also have to help them level up, sponsoring quests with your gear.

  • Manage your town. This is the multiplayer part. You can have private cities with some friends, or get into a public city. There are loads of town buildings to improve or just build from scratch, unlocking more adventurers, resources, and efficency. You have to donate money / items / adventurers for these town-wise bonuses.

Damn DR, you do everything hardcore. Let me guess, you maximized your Heavenly Chip growth?

Swords & Potions 2 is... eh. The major problem is that each and every single F2P game is identical to the other. Grind super hard for some resources or just buy them up. Those games just all have brutal progression, they're all in the end resource management games and they all deprive you of resources.

There's been a few nice Flash games in the past year, the space still has some creativity. But I can't remember any of them. I'll just link to Cursed Treasure 2 instead.
