I'm wondering what it would be like having you in our little group, Villain. I might possibly want to shoot you as you seem like a true dickhead.

That reminds me; if you ever loot the NW airfield and all you can ever find on any loot spot is just empty cans and bottles, know that it's most likely me. Exclusive to NW airfield, I replace all the loot with junk so that new loot won't spawn :smug:

By the way, I have set up a camp of 50+ (and counting; I try to place 5 more every time I go back there) tents in the middle of nowhere. I keep all my best gear in one of those. So far, nobody seems to have found the right tent. Perhaps it's an intimidating thought to go through all :smug:

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

Found 2 bicycles.

The bicycle can go pretty fast, 70+km/h downhill. Since it needs no gas I can ride the edges of the map looking for tents and vehicles. Found quite a few tents and a vehicle there.
Tip: Don't try to run over zombies with bicycle.
Fact: Bicycles can travel on dams at 2km/h.

Damn everybody has got one, now. Do these spawn completely randomly? Where did you find those?
West of Zelenogorsk. Found them by accident, just like the heli.
Also, I saw a player running away in the middle of nowhere, hid and went in the direction he was running from, found his car, stole it, but it was badly damaged car and while fleeing into the forest, got into a tree accident - blew up the car killing me.

Haha. What a fucker you are! It would be fun to hook up sometime, it's interesting seeing the different approaches people have to playing this game.

I think I died more in the last three days than I did in the last three weeks of playing this thing. Or 'living' in this little world. I promised myself I'd take a day off but think I'll be online within the next few hours. I can't stop. This game is a huge blast for me.

Tents are a real bitch to pitch. I'd read that it was rather messed up but sometimes it takes me five minutes or so to get one placed. It's fun finding other peoples tents though. I would probably sift through fifty of them if I had someone covering me but I haven't bothered exploring off the map yet.

This sounds like a true survivalist multiplayer game in all its grimdark machete rape glory. I already have ArmA2 full, but I can't get OA right now and I never bothered trying vanilla MP because I doubt there are even people still playing vanilla at this point.

At least once I give this a try it'll probably be much better and stable. Probably.

I landed on my PHATT35T L00T yet!

I was heading towards the military tents in Stary Sobor and mind you, it was truly dark this time. 1 AM. No moonlight faggotry lighting everything up. Pitch fucking black. At this point, I'm pretty much navigating blind, relying on sound for zombies and GPS for the environment. Cranked up brightness helps making out the environment but not so much with actually seeing players in camo/ghillie/black civilian or most zombies. Then I heard footsteps with the distinct lack of zombie noise. Somebody else was scavenging too and he was pretty close.

I thought about messaging him in case he had spotted me or wasn't alone and had cover and maybe his guys had me on their sights with night goggles, however far fetched that might or might not be. Just as I was about to hit chat key to copy & pasta my generic "friendly noob here, pls don't shoot" message, I spotted him. Coyote backpack, camo suit. The idiot was crouching by the doorway, checking out the loot inside the tent without going in, less than 10 meters away. Practically asking to get murdered! And I had a Bizon SD which rocks so I didn't waste another moment and headshotted that motherfucker right there right then.

I can only imagine the butthurt of being headshotted in pitch black.

And he had in his pack a B-A-F aka Big Ass Fucker with three mags plus plenty of other stuff. Zeroing up to 1800m! I've never found this rifle before. I thought they have taken it out. Gonna put it to field testing soon. Any suggestions for the locale, except for NW airfield?

I would probably sift through fifty of them if I had someone covering me but I haven't bothered exploring off the map yet.

Well, expect company: on two occasions, I found player corpses between the tents. I myself was once killed while placing new tents over there. And my placement of the tents is rather chaotic. Orientation and spacing is all over the place so it's hard to go through them systematically. But be my guest if you ever find the spot in the right server, I'm sure it will be worth your time :smug:

But I should move camp anyway.

Kind of cool, I've never found a coyote backpack yet, I suspect they're extremely rare.

I like the weapon chart as I don't know much about them in RL or in game but would like to see the noise level in there. My personal favourites right now are the M1911 because it packs a punch and is fairly quiet when you don't want to enrage zombies in town or announce your presence. I'm also partial to the AKM, it's loud but hits hard, wish it was on semi instead of full by default, plus ammo is fairly common. I'm not too concerned about range as I usually dial down the AKM to 200m, I'm more of a run and gun type of guy, I don't snipe people as that isn't my goal in life.

Most kills are Zombies and panicked pvp things at closer range. I let the sniper guys that like to cover from a distance deal with that stuff. I do like to play with the different weapons though just to get a first hand feel for them. For example, I think the G17 (Glock) is a peice of shit. I had a Mxxxx(something or other) that looked cool but as I use iron sights to aim most of the time I found it took up too much of the screen when in that mode.

And yes, I'm playing again, couldn't stay away.

Someone tried to drive his ATV over a dam and got stuck. I tried to drive it but kept getting the crashing sound, I got off and ran away just before it exploded.
Also stole another ATV hidden in a tree on another server.
So far I have stolen a car, a bike and an ATV. This is like GTA.

I don't think it's like GTA. I think Vice City is brilliant in its own way. But seriously, GTA?

Anyone else bothered that at some point visibilty seems to creep back to about a 1000 meters and white hazy fog obscures the rest?

While cycling fullspeed off-road on the bike to meet you I was thinking that the incredible head bobbing in vehicles off-road makes it difficult to see things when I rode into a mini pond and got the bicycle stuck. :(
There are only a few mini-ponds on the map and I rode into one.

I heard that it's locked in the mod at default, which might be 1600m. Not sure if that's what you're talking about.

It's actually supposed to hover around 300 - 500 meters, the fog is reportedly only dynamic weather. I get serious The Mist vibes when I'm walking around in the open fields up north.

Yeah, It's the dynamic weather, thought it might be a local problem.

That car looks mighty sweet CB. About to buddy with a friend to start collecting parts, then find a vehicle. This game is fucking timesink though. Haven't played this much in ages. Enjoyed your leaving berezino vid, "ow shit" indeed, good to know you can run out of deerstands.

I ran out of a deerstand after watching that video. Broke my legs. Don't do it.

I'm not so sure about the fog being dynamic weather. I read in the forums that view distance was intentionally nerfed. And I have yet to join a server where you can see beyond 900m in the last couple days.
