How do/would you solve this combat for 3 heads?
I mean, solo 10/10 Dex/Per.
Even with gas&flash nades on turn 1, I can't survive long enough.

PS not that't I'm sure I need to solve this quest in combat, but what if I do.
a big part of playing solo is picking your spot to stand your ground to minimize the number of enemies who have line of sight on you / can melee you.

for a solochad in that fight? i think hugging close to the merc who wants to buy the implant is the right move, as the table should block some dudes from melee'ing you and forces him to use potshot to land hits on you in CQC

And beat the game, 100% get the criticisms of the game being frontloaded with a rushed 3rd act.

Didn't help i went the church route so the ONLY fight i had in the last stretch was one easily skippable by my charisma/electronics/computer chad. I thought that would be the warmup fight, especially because you have tense music and a sense of foreboding in the final area, like you are about to meet some long lost horrors unleashed from the mutiny.
And then because i didn't equip the maguffin for the alt endings i didn't have anything else to do but absorb the plot reveal and...bam game's over, just like that, no ending with a bang or anything.

I also in general expected there to be more exploration, i loved mapping out the depths of mission control and digging through long lost areas of the ship. But turns out that's only really in the first half of the game, afterwards you don't really explore. On my second playthrough and really hoping there are a bunch of hidden areas and dungeons i've missed, starting a new run with a cheated out pc with max stats just so i can track down every arcane secret.

As an aside, the ending, or at least some of them, seems like the setup for either an rts or a 4x:
Humans invading a planet full of alien primitives. Except it's humans the ones who are bringing invasive species and terraforming the world to suit their needs so a reverse cnc tiberium situation.

Oh speaking of exploration since i can't find mention of this online...

How to get into the Restricted Area at the north of the Factory map? I'm told my character can't go in at all because the radiation is so strong it just melts your visor. Is this a red herring or is this the entrance to a secret area i have not met the requirements for yet?

I think you can get in there or send one of your companions once you have gear with perfect toxic protection. It's not so much an area as a small room with a laser blade weapon.

Getting 100% Toxic on one person is a good idea as it leads to a similar area later with a training token. Easy to do if anybody has a synthetic heart.

The perfect solo hybrid build doesn't exi...

Sided with Mercy, killed all the psyker frogs before factory, killed black hand and detroit gang, done all the quests in habitat mostly through speech, and also stealth quests, gave machine to church, killed the geat mother at the Heart, persuaded Mercy to let the Pit be annexed by Church, and persuaded the new great mother to switch off the engines to land the ship. Kinda underwhelming ending, there is just one slide and thats it.

Tagged persuation at the end of the game because i couldn't persuade Stanton without it, before that my speech skills were sufficient for all checks. So probably could have done it earlier and switched one training token from persuation to lockpick or done more fights instead of talking. Though there are just some gadget parts behind the door that requires 10 lockpick so whatever.

Not too different from 10 con blunt murder-hobo, only have to use more grenades sometimes. Used two disruptors in the armory fight vs protectors (seemed like they are stronger than brotherhood btw). Also didn't get all the stuff from the mission control & armory until later because i think i didn't use any training tokens on computers, electronics, lockpick (except for the one in hydroponics red zone where you can't pick the token).

4-5 speech skills (at least with +1 disposition) and 5 and a half in sneak when leaving the Pit was enough to do it. That is with skill bonus from frog brains but without skill monkey. Then i offered machine to Church and got skill monkey after overclocking the +int implant which brought sneak to 6 which is enough for stealth quests in habitat and maintenance (with tunnel runner perk at least).

afaik only diff is who is the boss, so you are picking pistol with nice accuracy and penetration vs smg. WIth your build you should have mk3 cloak, so you can assassinate everyone before fight starts

The second half of the game is just an annoying teleportitis/running slog[i've finally turned on cheat engine speedhack because it was starting to tire me], the ending is shit. To be honest, the game is kinda waste of time. Combat system, especially the so called "weak points" almost have no difference, it's a waste of AP in a system where action economy and taking enemies one by one is a king strategy. The only worthwhile shots are custom weapon feats like bursts and maybe leg shots to decrease evasion, but in the end it doesn't decrease it by much. Overall the good graphics doesn't salvage a mediocre game, and i uphold my opinion that underrail is better, funny enough at the game ending i got a feeling the devs wanted to borrow some ideas form deep caverns heh.

And also fuck anyone who made these semi opened doors that you have to go through, you can't path through map if your run somewhere, and same for collision of chars in non-combat situation, just why? Who thought its a good idea?

Wow, you reached endgame level in every noncombat skill AND had strong combat stats to boot.

I guess Healing Factor + implants = Bethesda mode?

The most ironic thing is that by far THE BEST thing about TCS is not writing, combat, quests, reactivity or setting but the graphics lol. The last thing you would expect to be really good in "indie RPG", yet here we are. Music is also good but there are like only 5 tracks altogether in an entire game.

Some tracks are ok, like in habitat, but the first city, the Pit music is dreadful, it's a sad and boring music that tire you quickly i just disabled music all together then, and then everytime i entered new location i checked the music, if its the pit music, i muted the music again.

Also, i don't remember the price, but underrail even as timelapse vertigo was much cheaper, even if we consider the inflation which pretty much made prices 50% higher since then. And ultimately it was a good decision to not focus on graphics which would most likely prove to be expensive with 3d modelling and hiring competent artist/artists[i imagine styg did a lot graphic himself].

I think it should be possible with different builds too, like maybe dumping some str and con for dex and per for killing the enemies faster with some ranged weapon. Because blunt is not really impressive in that regard until late game.

Or gifted with 10 int + educated + overclocked int implant could tag 6 skills and still have decent combat stats. Say lockpick, electronics, computers, evasion, pistol in the Pit then tag persuation in the habitat if you want to land the ship or biotech for better implant upgrades.

Yeah that was what i was doing, but was unable to quickly kill Cobra when fighting vs protectors cause she had a ton of evasion, distortion field and a pulse grenade, and was acting first vs my build, unlike the brotherhood guy. So stealth gadget disabled on 2nd turn if i start hitting her.

On the Big Final Superboss Fight:

Are there any ways to affect the fight? I've seen cases where I order the ship back to Earth, Ava confronts me, and then I'm fighting Ava + the whole Mutant Ninja team + couple snipers, more or less. If you kill the Azrael Trio while moving the GECK, are they out of this fight?

This. In most cases these obviously are chokepoints for combat encounters so their presence has some justification, but they should just be cleared after you're done (you push them fully open or whatever). It blows my mind that nobody felt like this feature was a problem.

Ekhm:
Areas are too fragmented (like in Underrail) and we have to click on a ladder/platform/bushes/'squeeze through door' to progress. Too much pointless clicking for my taste. In AoD bigger locations had only a couple of those, here even small areas have quite a few of them.

game is good, not as good as aod but good enough i don t regret backing it.

even thou it has problems in the last act, like aod did, i appreciate the fact this studio is pretty much the best in the market at doing low level shit, like Teron and The Pit.

they are out. Dont get your hopes up though, my solo hybrids werent able to last a single round anyway lol. With 9 eva enemies shoot your arms, not legs, to show how weak you are

overall, forgot that healing factor gives bio xp, so indeed for solo hybrid that alone opens interesting options

I'm not sure if this is addressed to me, but if it is, I was just commenting on the feat. Master Trader allows you to buy a unique energy rifle which is pretty good. I don't think it's worth it otherwise. Little Shop of Horrors, decent armor set and battery for Romeo later on vs squad leader early, I think the implant is the better reward only for a full party.
I looted another Scoped Energy Rifle off of a Great Mother Guard or maybe a monk. One of the strongest weapons all the way to the end of the game, on a specialist Crit/Reaction build; its biggest drawback being the rarity of Energy Cells.

Wish I could use a Romeo battery to charge up energy weapons...

I just had an idea - man portable Energy Cannon. Needs STR9, runs off off bot powerpacks

biggest drawback being the rarity of Energy Cells.
thats why i love pistolero with unique energy revolver. You get it early, can upgrade, very cost effective(2 cells per shot), reduced AP cost of revolver, but reloads for 3ap unlike revolver(4)

I always assumed those chokepoints were a way to off/load active data in the map to optimize the game and have faster loading times.

Unlikely given that all the stuff behind the chokepoints (like enemies and hotspots) exists there and can be viewed before you pass them.

Those interactive chokepoints just like jump/fly in D:OS/BG3 are a poor attempt to simulate exploration by breaking pathfinding - you can see a place but can't reach it just by clicking - forcing manual movement. Has nothing to do with load times, since the map is already loaded as a whole anyway, and no system of sub-map relative coordinates would speed it up.

It's used like that but I doubt it's the reason. In a strictly grid based game like this, attaching a trigger to a set of tiles is tripe, plus there are several interactive chokepoints in Hydroponics & Maintenance that do nothing except teleport to the other side.

Healing Factor is very powerful and you can get all 7 implants set up before Factory - the issue I have is that it leans you into defense/attrition builds which can be very good but I find them more boring. Dodge This glass cannons are my jam.

Going to try out a Gifted Hybrid, though, along the lines of Alpharius' description, partly just to test out shotguns

honestly was thinking about it but then... what im gonna do with extra tag. Bio? (Locked into thinking about bio since in all my previous runs wasnt able to extract everything like a repo man i wish to larp)
Shotguns are a bit weird, from what I saw(on my enemies) you either have ballistic that are not punching through the armor or energy ones that obliterate you
