Gotta say, I'm a little sceptical about the likelihood of the Habitat being finished on schedule. It took them two months to finish the factory, which is basically a long corridor with three fights, and another two months to finish the shuttle bay, which again has only three fights and admittedly a lot of divergent dialogue possibilities based on the player's choices in the pit and the factory. The Habitat is supposed to be much larger than the Pit, with a lot more content and reactivity to decisions made in previous areas of the game plus main quest progression, and it's going to be done in only twice the amount of time it took for the factory? Ehhhhhhhh......

The Habitat is coming out in beta latter today

We are going to upload a sneak peek today barring unforeseen consequences. It's a bit rough, bear in mind.

I ask for clarification and they did say they do mean the beta(More like a playable sneak peek is what Vince is calling it) for the Habitat

For more information on it

It's still a bit rough. It's missing quite a bit of detailing in terms of props and filler characters, lighting is still work in progress, some quests don't have the journals, map is missing pictures, and we are pushing the traders to next week to give some thought to the implementation of their stocks and stealing opportunities (with better items to reward investment in the skill).

Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. Yes, Oscar promised to release on Friday and he did his best to deliver (not sure how much he slept lately). But as before, it wasn't enough to bring it to a semi-finished state. So we can delay by another week (and then by another week) or we can show you what we're working on, let you run through the levels.

It's raw and unfinished and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but the most impatient and curious. Some quests and conversations were disconnected (i.e. won't appear as dialogue options) either because the maintenance level isn't done yet or because the stealth part isn't done. I'd say we need two more weeks to finish what we have, then another two weeks to finish the maintenance (it's half done). Could be longer, of course.

Treat it as a sneak peek, not a beta. Too many things are missing at this point.

The build is taking too long to upload or something so tomorrow morning then

Update: Due to the amount of new assets shader compilation took a long time, and there were some issues with some assets. It became too late in Ukraine, so we are doing it tomorrow morning.

It's barebones according to VD.

I'm gonna wait a few more weeks until it's complete.

this game is gonna be great when it releases in 2025

No reason to think it's gonna take that long since the biggest update is almost out already.

They set a pretty clear roadmap from the start and unless something really bad happens(like VD dying or their Ukrainian employees being bombed by the russians) I find it very unlikely it's gonna get past Q1 2023 or worst case scenario Q2.

Having been pessimistic a few months ago, I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about how quickly the team will be able to crank out post-Habitat content. Most of the visual assets and level design that they'll need for the return to the Pit already exist, while the content for the lower levels of the Armory and Mission Control and the red/yellow zones of Hydroponics should be fairly self-contained without needing lots of careful consideration of how it will interact with the world state in the rest of the game. The only area that I'd expect to be anything like as gnarly as the Habitat is the mutant town.

Colony Ship will launch IronTower Studio among the stars where they'll shine alongside Troika and Black Isle

Can't wait for follow up tactical game where Ship lands on alien planet with medieval tech level and psychic magic. VaultDweller talked about it or maybe I dreamed it. Space Conquistadors, here we come!

If you start new game on beta branch Jia's pickpocketing quest is broken- turret's gone and you stand there awkwardly unable to leave.

Hate to disappoint you but Vince already said it won't be a repeat of the conquest of the new world but a tale of survival. There won't be endings where the colonists conquered, enslave or wipe out the natives(There are a lot more of them than colonists have bullets or soldiers plus the colonist's immune system will probably be a lot weaker due to being trapped in a ship with failing life support systems, especially the people in the Pit.) but there will be endings the other way around. (If I'm misreading what you want then please ignore me)

Done with the combat character- new music really sets the mood and the Habitat looks great.

I think I've enjoyed the Brotherhood the most so far. The monuments with obviously fake stories, the history of the leaders of the Mutiny in the archives plus the aesthetic of their plaza.

Had 3 bugs (aside from the missing turret in the Pit)
During the fight with Storm and her cronies the floor doesn't work. Can't move my character at all. As I was melee and solo I couldn't finish it.

After getting detained by Protectors and deciding to attack them, 2 of them have no weapons and wait patiently to get killed.

After returning from Shuttle Bay by elevator the camera gets stuck and can't be moved. It resets after teleporting to one of the locations in the Habitat Entrance.

Since my character wasn't very talkative I've just whacked everyone I could for all the factions (plus some extra encounters). There was some interesting stuff that I'll have to check with someone more diplomatic
Brothethood has problems with insurgents, Church has people doubting the Holy War and advocating peaceful spreading of God's Word and some of the Protector higher-ups try to work out some kind of peace deal with the Brotherhood.
Would be interesting if you were allowed to weaken the three major factions to help Jonas'/ Braxton's alliance carve out a piece of pie.
