We were all expecting a sequel after SUNSET Harbour (Finns apparently don’t do subtext), maybe they just need some quick cash to help with that, idk.

They said there were going to be a number of announcements, so I guess there’s some room to be hopeful.

I think it's more about extending the shelf live of the game until they are ready to announce the sequel, which may have been delayed because of Covid.
Do they even make a lot of cash with those? The DLCs only have a couple of hundred reviews on Steam. The main game has well over 130k, Sunset Harbor only 400 and that's more than most other recent DLC.

I was a big fan of the game but I stopped buying DLCs before Sunset Harbor because at that point they were all pointless reskins of previous mechanics. So the only who buy them after that are stupid fanboys or stupid enough to not understand the point i mentioned before.

It's a problem that the have very few core mechanics. Trash, snow and the deceased are the same. Water, sewage and heat are the same. And all newer DLC (Parks, Campus) are "Industries" in different reskins.

New maps and service vehicles. Release date is the 25th, it's unclear if they'll cost money.

if they do a sequel, i wish they won't use unity again. almost all the game's issues stem from it.

Such as ? I don't know any issues with it that are specific to unity.

Also what are alternatives...

UE ? Huge assets problem + very hard modding

Cryengine ? Just few years before Crytek was almost bankrupt and could shut down any minute and with that support for engine and game you are making with it.

Lumbeyard is fork from cryengine. Seems better option.

Everything else is either shit or self made for game studios.

LGR's review is out.

TL;DR version: It's too barebones to be worth the price, and you can't make one big slab of tarmac for your airport.
