Phew... I finally read the whole thread, my playthrough is sucking all my time.
I am at 140 hours mark and still in chapter 3. I spent 42 in first chapter and was at 124 hours mark when I joined chap3. /anw
I am obviously exploring the world map like an autist-tard, feels good, wasn't excited by a game like that since my early 20's (probably VTMB at the time), that's around 15 years ago.
The game is a massive incline; notable mention for its quest design: where there are tons of hidden solutions. Where your quest journal would update with a line like ''ok, I found the cave[...]'', it would actually be a misinterpretation of your character and you would have to figure it out on your own.
Someone telling you ''ok, there might be x and y that you need to fetch me'', you can actually find a z if you're bright (and if you've got the time to handle it).
But as it was mentioned before, yes the game is literally plagued with Immortal NPC's, or design inconsistencies: Teleports that malfunctions because quest.
I seems that some quest designers found sublte ways to approach dead ends, and some other went hurr-durr. Really hope we will see some fix to this. I'll certainly bring it up on steam forums when I'm done playing this.
Sjukob it's not hard to start a mage, the fact that you need to find runes etc. is exciting, ofc it's busy work, but it's part of the thrill. But the thing is, you ''one shot'' (burst dmg) everything even early.
The issue is that it involves backtracking, you're out of ammo pretty fast and you cannot take groups, you need to pull out critters out of their groups and if you can't, you're fucked.
But you make steady progress. I would vouch for a 30% in one handed since it synergize so well with Dust Wind and Ice Block.
You can easily pump strength with all the boosters, notably apples. I need to check again but I think I am close to 130 str with only 30 trained.
Thx a lot for your input/video on combat technics, helped me a ton.
