Adding to this, you also get capstone rewards from your first master when you "graduate" as their apprentice and gain the ability to pick a second. For the alchemist you get a 500% strength permapotion that's based on your character, no idea what the other ones get.

What does 500% strength permapotion mean? A permanent statup potion that's 5 times stronger than usual? (so +15 strength instead of +3)?

For my mage, it was +25 mana (up from +5), so yeah.

What is the correct way of doing Yezegan's (alchemist from the Wolf Den) quest about transformation potions? I gave Spirit a medium one, Dan got the weak version and Ripper drank a strong potion, I followed him to the cave in the swamps. The journal entry said that I wasn't thorough enough about it.

Any idea how to do that "For Connoisseurs" quest in the city?

The Merchant's Guild leader tells you to "drop off" some spoiled wine at a trader that sells wine.
I found only two traders in the entire city selling wine (one at the harbor, another in some random street called "Miscellaneous Trader" or sth like that). Not one of them at the marketplace as the quest description indicates.
Tried dropping the item around their stores - nothing.
Tried selling them the spoiled wine - nothing.

Is that quest bugged or is the quest description just crap?

I just sold the wine to the guy who had 20 bottles of wine for sale and that was all that i needed.

Also, i did it! I climbed the volcano without cheats, i just found some weird sliding glitches.

I love the economy in this game. You really have to struggle for gold in the beginning and decide what to buy. It does seem easy enough to make more gold just by selling meat to the butcher although since enemys dont respawn, I guess thats limited.

By the way, I have no idea what you are talking about when you say that the alchemist artisan gives you a super potion once you finish his quest line. I've completed it, he allowed me to become an apprentice for another master, but I did not recieve any potion from him.

Is it better to wait for the first update\patch, I dont mind a few technical issues but I prefer waiting for any game to be relatively stable and or completed ?

If it is build dependent maybe your build is throwing the logic off.

Weird. Probably a bug, then.
Not that it matters, cause I lost my bottle anyway. I reloaded some save and it was gone, not to be found at any merchant, either. Oh, well....

I am in chapter 4 now, just finished clearing silver mine from the crawlers, said hi to the royal escort, I've been thinking about something...

Volker is the big bad of story, right? He talks about some uncertain, but supposesly noble goals, he sees his actions as right and just, I would even say he views himself as some sort of saviour for people despite having many enemies, he has a personal army that wears BLACK armor, he briefly appears at the very beggining of the game for a reason unknown to the player, and don't even try to tell me that anybody but the big villain speaks with a voice like that.

Also, one of his men - Sach or Salch, whatever his name was, the one you meet at the graveyard during investigation quest, while trying to get the crossbow bolt. He was the one who assisted Big Ben with kidnapping, right? The archmage refers to him as a pale and skinny man, which fits the description that the sentries and Big Ben give to you, Salch even says that Martin looks familiar to him, which only further raises suspicion that it was indeed him. So Volker had a hand in Jon disappearance, I guess that it was very likely that he personally wrote that order for kidnapping.

The way I see it, there are many checks that indicate him to be the actual antagonist. I would be very surprised if I am wrong about this one.

One of the merchants near the huntress sells wine, 20 bottles or so.
Just sell him the spoiled wine and your journal will update.

Keep visiting him and selling him things, it might not happen till chapter 5 or something.

I played all the Gothic games and loved them and I have downloaded this game but havent played it yet

Is it better to wait for the first update\patch, I dont mind a few technical issues but I prefer waiting for any game to be relatively stable and or completed ?

There have been multiple patches already released.

I know that negro, the point is that i haven't seen those bugs. Also they had done nothing about the important bugs like pickaxe attrition. Could have made pickaxes cost like 5 gold and be replenish able items in stores.

Game crashed during quicksaving, so I lost like 3 hours of playing :negative:

Why is dis engine such a piece of shit? :(
There's a very good reason quick save is not enabled by default...
You learned a valuable lesson today ;)

I assume that the engine was one of the few that tried to do the nonsensical feat of actually making "quick save" save quicker than a normal save - instead of just making all saving quicker in general.
I've seen that a few times in older games, it's a mystery of early 3D games, really.

And in the process, they probably used some kind of "optimization" that tends to screw things up.
