It's a worldwide live service that has to be up 24/7, with servers all around the world, and potentially millions of users at any given time. A substantial crew is needed imo.

I might have some contacts that could help those out of work. (There's a few in the industry that didn't rush to judgment.)

Vast majority of the gaming industry is liberal. If they're not true believers of women themselves, then they're people who don't want to rock the boat and risk the ire of true believers. One hopes that after Avellone's name appears in the credits of WolfEye's next game and the unannounced project with no big controversy, the latter will feel more confident in hiring him for their projects. It'll take time though.

This is hardly uncommon. For instance, out of the three developers Tim Cain has had on his talk show, one blurred his background and another one replaced it with a spaceship.
