There should be an option in the settings to turn off all the vids and warnings. Problem solved.
You made me look again - I use No Intro Videos and it gets rid of all that stuff and the first spacebar, but you can also add the -skipStartScreen parameter to dump the second spacebar. I know CET has options for that stuff too, but they didn't work when I tried them.

cdpr should just cut the entire first act, it's not finished anyway and fuck the city being blocked off
Uh... that's a... novel solution to extraneous spacebars.

Decided to buy the Ultimate Edition in the GOG sale and have a second playthrough....

Thought I'd try the download and install via GOG Galaxy. My god, what unmitigated fucking cancer this platform is. Their "cloud sync" option is utterly fucking broken. Turns out I have over 500 MB of saves from an old, high seas version still on the HD and Galaxy will only sync a max of 200 MB.

200 MB. In 20-fucking-24. As an added bonus, under these circumstances it won't even launch the game. OK, so I turn off the cloud syncing option. Game launches once OK. Exit back out, then on subsequent launch attempts it tries to perform the sync even when the option is unchecked. I backup and then delete a load of the old files to get below the 200 MB limit. The game then loads and syncs the files, but after which again says I've gone over the 200 MB limit (which is bullshit, it was 160-odd) and now the previously local saves are classed as "cloud" saves and it wont load them.

Even if you got this mess apparently working, how could you ever trust it wouldn't eventually decide to bork up and lock you out of your saves 100 hours in?

Whoever is responsible for this platform should be executed without trial. Uninstalling this turd, then will have to download all the standalone installer files AGAIN to do a local install.

Jesus wept.

Yeah, the cloud saves are broken. I recall having a problem with that like two years ago. Imagine my shock that it still isn't fixed. GOG Galaxy in general is terrible--nice idea, poor execution. The app's in a perennial Beta state, last I checked, and boy it showed.

Heroic works quite well for GOG games.

I see CDPR have decided to bake in their level-scaling bullshit overhaul if you want to actually play Phantom Liberty? Give me strength.

Level scaling in RPGs is always inane and lazy design, sapping the game world of any sense of challenge or progression. ALWAYS.

Ugh. I cba spending hours and hours delving into MODs to try and fully correct this shit, but I did quickly install a couple to revert skill checks and hacking back to pre-2.0 levels at least.

I had the same problem but aggressively deleting the files solved the issue. It still seems like a bug, though, as the problem suddenly appeared despite me not playing the game more than usual.

It's completely ridiculous that something this fundamental is so bugged. The Steam implementation is flawless. Anyway, whatever. Local saves it will have to be.

'fraid that's the price for having a huge expansion added.

Well that and it actually works in the type of setting they're presenting and is one of the best implementations of level scaling I've seen.

I've reinstalled and checking my Tracked Mods section on the nexus. Here we go again.

Something curious I've found is that the Gangs of Night City has seen some development in the year or so that I've been away.

https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/7233?tab=description

-Gang RP System:
---------------------
With how the new way to join a gang works. Once you go through that process of obtaining the new tech and joining a gang, The only benefits for now is the gang you joined will have all members be your friend. Just look at them and they will become friendly. Additionally, they will play a subtitle. This happens randomly, but not obnoxiously.

Addition to being apart of a gang. You will have the chance to be ambushed by rivals or a rival that has a bounty on you. Now You will be able to bounty hunt your ops! Gain affinity this way to unlock a new mission. (currently, only maelstrom and mox have a single mission you unlock after affinity 15 with either gang)

TO CHECK YOUR AFFINITY, Go to your database section, found in the main hub where you can see cyberware, skills, etc. there should be a "Cyberscript" section. the rest is self explanatory.

- CUSTOM NPCs Vs. Gang war spawns:
---------------------------------------------

-There's 898 spawns for custom placed npcs. Their triggers are all on specific time frames, and if that faction has the appropriate amount of district points/control in that particular district you're in.

-Brawl spawns all trigger after 7pm, in-game. there's more than 60+ of these spread across the city. Dogtown doesn't have this yet. Some brawl spawns have more than 3 of them at once in one big area so it's a more controlled space.

-This should satiate player's desire for chaotic moments but not too chaotic.

- If you want chaos but not with the gang war spawns, you can turn on gang wars (not lore wars) so that all custom npc triggers are met and show up in game. Then set your min and max seconds to the most they can go so it happens literally almost every 5 mins. Set your spawn amount to 1 so it's minimally impacting the chaotic factor as minimally as possible.

Just to correct the record, with the no intro mod I have installed, you don't need to push the spacebar to get to the main menu. The menu pops up on it's own after a few seconds. The reason I thought you had to hit the spacebar once is because the little graphic that says to push space to continue is displayed for a moment before the menu appears.

You do have to hit space one time once the save is loaded and the game is ready to begin. I don't mind that at all.

Few things.

I got myself 4090 switching from 3090. One of the things i wanted to do with new 4090 was to finally fire up C77 at all bells and whistles at 4k with minimal DLSS (quality). With 3090 i could do max 1440p with pathtracing at ~40-50fps without any extra mods.

Now with new power i was finally able to run it as it should. 4k@80fps with pathtracing. After some extra mods to handle that shitty HDR implementation in C77 game really really really is beautiful. Like truly proper next gen title. This thing is a beauty on my OLED with HDR.

here is source video (with HDR which requires VLC player) and youtube without hdr but in 4k:

Then after that I wanted to finally try it in VR with proper high settings rather than low settings and low resolution. What i didn't expect was that with 4090 i was able to actually run my headset native relosution WITH pathtracing at max giving me 72FPS lock (my headset setting). Yes, not only game runs in VR at max resolution of my headset (2,2k per eye) but also it runs at max details + pathtracing and i can still lock the framerate. A lot of it is due to Luke Ross VR mod which cuts out not needed parts of screen and some fuckery with his rendering but still. This is the best looking game and it runs in VR at max.

why does the game have pathtracing but not some fucking branching dialogue options? what were they thinking? who was managing the budget?

I assume that nviidia is shilling hard here.

Latest update to C77 actually added new Pathtracing mode which is even better but it is currently disabled. No doubt they will announce it when 5090 will come out Early Next year. You can enable it right now and it looks better but it has some not resolved issues no doubt they are working on.

edit:

Weirdly C77 isn't the only one that does some shenanigans with raytracing. Dragon's Dogma 2 has full pathtracing as well that modders managed to uncover. IT doesn't have denoising so at lower res it is super grainy but with my 4090 i can switch it on and it also transforms game a lot. Especially all the armor.

Imho pathtracing soon will become default rendering mode. It is just soo much easier to develop with it in mind rather than fake lights.

I'm 26 hours in, just finished The Heist, and I'm pretty happy that I gave this game a chance after all. My biggest surprise is how gameplay oriented this game is - a complete opposite of this abomination called RDR2. Was really not expecting melee combat to be so fun and fluid; cutting heads with katana doesn't get old, same with smashing them with gorilla arms. You collect loot quickly, can move quickly, combat is fast, nothing is on rails, you can go anywhere you want etc. Characters are memorable, story is at least about something different than saving the world, they are not afraid to make people die, all good stuff. Also, it looks like the bugs are also solved - had only one crash so far (falling through the floor after dashing). Pretty sure I will finish this, should probably consider buying the DLC as well.

You know, there is the new Call of duty Black Ops 6 if you are into ADHD gameplay where you go at the speed of light and everything dies in seconds.

CD projekt is the most DEI company (even more than Bioware) according to a dev.

+ Confirmed that it was woke from day 1
You do realize that Witcher is a universal story about being different and the way the world reacts to it?

Geralt himself is an outcast mutant, people throw stones at him. There is such an obvious paralel here...

And Ciri prefers playing around with girls than boys...

The Witcher is ALL about politics, from the everyday monster killers to high-profile powerplays between kings and queens (all of them with their own abnormalities, physical and mental).

Do you really not see the irony of what you just wrote?

I can believe it. The absolute industrial grade cringe of the Myers character in Phantom Liberty is quite the experience. Not many game characters have my eyes rolling from literally the first second they appear.
