Just started second playthrough and Holy shit, this game is hard on very hard difficulty. Last time I played on hard, it was mostly very entertaining run and gun with slo mo. Now I need to use stealth and hacks, because simple mobs can fuck me up in 3 seconds. So far I like it(doing gigs after meeting with Takemura), I don't have a feeling of being raped in the ass, it seems balanced and game mechanics are working fine even when there is no space for an error.
Yeah, the enemies have enough health to survive long enough now and the ai was tweaked to be extremely agressive, if you stay put, you die at lower levels, animals love to use sandervistan to just charge and one hit kill you in melee and shotgunners love to be sneaky motherfuckers and sandervistan to shotgun your ass, also, some enemies have tech weapons, specially snipers and yes, they penetrate thin cover, discovered this the hard way, they also love to throw incendiary and toxic granades as confetti and your life melts with a single one of those.

Level 15 - 20 is the first breakpoint though, once you get a good iconic and enough attribute level 15 to 20 perks, you will get the ball rolling, using the iconic smart submachinegun yinglong, 20% chance of PEM explosions and boy those explosions hit hard and replenish my incendiary granade by going into the tech tree, level 35 - 40 is another breakpoint, you can now max two trees, now I use overclock for 50% more damage and instantaneous tracking without having to use recon granades, enemies melt as electric damage seems to overcome armor.

Yeah I've got a Netrunner Yinglong/Overclock build, it's really powerful. I'm more invested in Reflexes than Body on the side, so mine's a bit of a glass cannon and dependent on Dash mobility, Kerenzikov and all that, but it's utterly destructive.

Not really what one associates with Netrunnereyness though, but who's complaining lol (I saw someone excuse it lore-wise as being that a "Netrunner" at our level is more like a "script kiddie" who uses hacked-together Netrunner skills as an adjunct, so I suppose that fits the idea of an "in your face" Netrunner a bit.)

You get 3 points at the start of DLC and another 3 midway through. At total there are 15 I think? Don't remember, b/c I never used abilities associated with them, I was a powerhouse already. You can find the rest in Dogtown.


That's what a lot of the early info had said, but in practice with the overhauled systems, it definitely doesn't feel like it does. There's certainly a power curve that you ride out as you upgrade your skills, perks, cyberware, and gear.

The only time I was downed in PL was in a fight with MaxTac guys when I chose Reed path (ie. don't help Songbird escape) and only because I went full contact with them instead carefully killing them via nethacks from behind. If there was level scaling at all, I didn't feel it, was so overpowered.

(I don't count being downed by fucking unkillable robot in Militech abandoned base futher down the quest in a cutscenes when he saw me, fuck it and fuck the fuck who thought it make sense and is a fun gameplay - it's not).

Not in the way we mean when we say level scaling. The patch notes used the term level scaling, but that's messaging intended for the average cyberpunk player. From my experience, the city is split into zones which have a level floor and a level ceiling and the enemies scale within the zone's bounds. The end result feels pretty good to me at least. You can tell when you are in a zone that's too high for you, but you can also tell when you've outleveled a zone. If you start doing jobs in a zone which is about your level, then you will see it scale along with you, but no level numbers are shown in the UI anymore (for enemies and quests).

Did Songbird flies ending. Mostly because, I knew the oath meant shit. I knew that if I went with the NUSA it'll just be dialog and dialog. Apparently that's also when the shitty MaxTec happens. It happened when Johnny came and talked to me and his dialog was - good, but the end result was 'lol I dunno, choose your own path'. I dunno why, but that made me feel liberated. Game's still buggy as hell. So-Mi kept going back and forth between spaces in the van, roads are disappearing at an alarming rate....

Seeing Reed and Alex just kill the French twins like that also just...rubbed me the wrong way. Yea, it's Cyberpunk, it's wetwork, but come on. Just put a bag over their head and put them in a faraday cage. Or, even, no, fuck the Frenchies, though the sister was hot. It was that they were basically going to offer So-Mi on a platter in a rogue mission. Ah well.

Betraying the NUSA, fighting them? Fuck yea. Made me feel a bit alive. It's gratifying as hell to see a black helicopter land, then just zero those gonks. I'm zippin around, I'm mowing them down, I take out my gorilla arms and smash the best the NUSA has to offer. I lulled Reed in and then shot him down, no hesitation.

At least So-Mi has a chance. Not even saying that as a simp thing, but I just...really don't like the NUSA. I said this three, two years ago with my first run. It's the skins of old America on a Militech Corpse. Having two presidents in sixty years is insane. And one corpo carrier was enough to make them shit their bricks. Fuck 'em. If private companies are getting us into space and doing what governments can't, with the side end of criminal chaos a bit, why should NC join the NUSA? Crime rates? What is the NUSA going to do but just beat crime out and turn Night City into a boring hellhole. Doesn't sound like they offer any services Night Corp doesn't.

Anyway, I digress. And I looked up the other endings, and they suck. Wow we survive but we're just another face in the crowd. Maybe one day we can take punches again and beat up gonks like Terry, but what sort of life is this? No combat implants, no real connections, what skills does V have. He's screwed. Being unaugmented in this world is paramount to being less than a nobody. While I am surprised it did offer a veritable new ending, basically, everyone but V 'wins' - well, him and Johnny, if you care for Johnny, which I don't really. But fuck it. Cure is almost as bad as Arasaka ending to me. Everyone runs around on our sweat and acts like nothing ever happened.

My biggest problem was that the main character is fucking retarded and self destructs for absolutely no reason. In the end the whole show seemed pointless to me. Also, I don't watch a lot of anime, but I expected more visual quality from a show with that much hype.

I'm also using PED to remove bullet sponge normal enemies (most normal humans get killed with an headshots, but mechs still take significantly more damage) and this my curve for damage to the player, since I felt I was taking too long to die.



I wonder if it's actually too much. I was at 1.5 but I still took 5-6 shots from three 6th Streets gonks before dying, felt that was too easy. I want to try to replicate the feeling of deadly combat of Cyberpunk 2020

0.5 is a good spot for me, levelling usually comes just when I think, "Hey, I haven't levelled for a while." :)

It's somewhat pointless because it is a prequel with canon characters, so some events are set in stone, period. The main characters don't show up ingame, so they only had one way to go. The first part of the anime is good, the second one after the timeskip? Not so much. And yeah, David becomes a tool but that was a given, seeing everyone was pretty much moving him towards a giant target on the ground like a chump.

I've tried 0.5, level up takes to long for my taste, 0.7 is sweet spot. You will get the goodies too late with 0.5.

edit: the changes made zero kills playthrough less braindead, though. I used to just equip the non-lethal eye mod and then you could do whatever you wanted, NPCs wouldn't die unless you hit them again while they're unconscious.
while doing cyberpsychos, Ive noticed that knife throws to the face are non lethal. At least against them. Regular goons would often die, but sometimes not(perhaps poison dropping hp to 0?)
