hehe, I don't know. I just remember I really enjoyed those battles, compared to say Warsong and so on. Find it funny you could go to work and when you got home the battle was still raging... until someone summoned that giant.

AV was nerfed 3-4 times during it's existance in vanilla. We're getting the 1.12 version. The 1.12 version is same as retail but with no tickets.
Do you also write "he's" instead of his?

I'm kinda bummed. My old EQ raid guild isn't too psyched while both the few going to do it and FoH are eyeing going Alliance.
Prolly roll with FoH, but I'm bummed about it.
Someone mind explaining this streamer mafia shit? I come from EQ where streamers I know might have a handful of people watching.
Regardless of what it is, I find it weirdest that it's a WoW thing of all games.

They could ignore it. I mean sure, some autistic troll will probably misuse it for the lulz but who gives a fuck. I played wow for many years and i never, ever even saw anyone writing with it. It probably became more of a thing when flying mounts were introduced which is just about the time i quit back in the day, and since there's no flying mounts in classic, what does it even matter?
What rustles my jimmies of course is the fact they mentioned "hate speech" specifically. Not simply gold sellers, which were pretty much the only people who did it probably, not even just profanities, which i'm sure is what trolls would write most of the times. No, they had to add "hate speech" because while not actually important for anyone playing the game, troll or otherwise, it is obviously important to the devs.

It was more a thing in EQ with corpses where people. The way EQ worked with punishing exp loss, most people made corpse words with newbie alts. All Sony eventually did was make corpses without gear under like lv10 have a 30minute timer.
To me, the hate speech thing is a fig leaf to hide behind to help cushion the outrage.

BTW anyone have an idea what Pallies will be like? I know from here and elsewhere they were fucked with a ton in Classic so I don't know how good they'd be to go with. Prolly gonna give in and roll Alliance with my FoH guys and besides Gnome mage pally is the only class that interests me.

Worst tank in the game, i wouldn't even bother unless you play with experienced party members. Damage mitigation is fine the issue is aggro. Takes a shit deal of mana to keep up and if you get a shit party it's a pain in the ass. Druids are better tanks which i consider to be a mishap. There's also the fact Druids can tank with their leveling spec where as tanking as a Paladin with a leveling spec is even more of a pain and by the time you get to 60 you won't be tanking anymore, so.
Like i mentioned before, in PvP you heal in plate. Everything else you heal in cloth. You'll be healing in raids, no buts.
Retribution works for PvP, as does the Reckoning bomb thingy build. Retribution is also good for leveling (yeah it's slow compared to other classes but big numbers are just so addicting), but you can also go aoe grinding style. Would probably level as Retribution if you play on a pvp server, with engineering as your profession. Get a healing set for instances and you'll heal fine even as Retribution.
That's about it as i remember. You get teh free 40 level mount which is a pretty good deal, especially if you go engineering which is a money sink, and over all just think of the paladin more as a cleric because that's how the class seems to be designed, as it was in Warcraft 3.
Newl perk of pallies: buffing or healing random people as you play around. Don't knock it feels pretty awesome to do. Missed that interaction when i leveled my warrior.
I'd say it's a n00b friendly class with some good spots to take for both raids and pvp. It's a support class and it actually really shines in parties. If you get in a party as dps there's still a ton of stuff you can do, between buffing, shielding (divine intervention is such an awesome wipe saver, if you can time it), and using choice seals (like the one that prevents runners). If you have a Druid healer you can also rez for him.
But again, just like tanking, going for dps in a dungeon is a big mana drain. Big numbers also tend to make aggro management for the tank an issue but in instances it should be fine and you can actually shield to clear aggro on yourself. You'll get a ton of mileage out of that damn bobble. You'll grief anyone who tries to kill you, including level 60 gankers, since they'll just have to waste time waiting for the shield to clear, making killing you less than satisfying for them (i don't need to explain how much of a pain you'll be when healing in pvp). You can also do crazy crap in the world, like drop down from great heights since you can just pop the bobble before landing. Pallies are one of the slowest killers in the game but the amount of stuff they get to get out of a tight situation is ungodly. Playing a Pally after leveling a Warrior would probably feel cathartic.

I used to fuck about on a private server mind controlling horde and healing/buffing them on my alliance priest, cant remember if it worked it on retail, usually just walked AFK over cliffs/off of the boats

I still don't know if I will play Classic which probably means I shouldn't. I was stupidly excited for it 2 months ago, but the hype kinda died down for me.
The big streamers will have 1000s of people handing them stuff and following them everywhere. Already happened on the beta and only a small fraction of their retarded viewers had access to that. Retards like Assmongoloid will show up to world bosses with 15 full raids every time.
Not a streamer mafia. It was APES and other top guilds doing it on private servers.

The skeleton banning is a slippery slope toward more SJW censorship which makes me seriously question my enthusiasm for WoW Classic.

From my recollection, paladins are relatively boring to level solo, but perform well in group content (PVP and PVE). It is not a fast paced class by any means, but it has some neat spells, such as blessing of freedom, cleanse, lay of hands, and divine protection. With enough spell crit, you can become a mana efficient healer (illumination refunds mana on heal crit). Plus, it can tank dungeons, it just has too many mana issues to tank well in raids (no mana, no threat).
I plan to roll paladin myself. I have 3-4 friends that plan to roll warrior, mage, priest, and/or hunter, and so paladin makes sense.
Also, I read a post on 4chan that said gnome mage was a trap choice. Specifically, it said that the 5% to intellect does not outweigh human spirit (5% to spirit) due to how evocation worked, but that does not make sense to me. Isn’t evocation based off of total mana?

Weeeeelll, it depends for the tanking raids thing and the mana. In actual vanilla, yes, mana was quite a problem, but with 1.12 balancing and chaining mana pots + demonic runes it's not so much. The main problem is itemization, paladins can main tank eventually in Naxx on farm because the off-set pieces are so good, but it's a huge compromise before that and you have to play perfectly, know the best-in-slot gear for prot and pray (due to missing defensive CDs). It's not so much impossible as sub-optimal and you have to make too many compromises when you can just get a warrior who will do a better job either way with half the effort. As for the "missing taunt" thing, Judgement + that threat ability + spell damage gear works fine as a taunt. You CAN main tank, but you have to be the guild leader basically.
