But why though?!

"Baldur's Gate, but with a controller!" is exactly how I would describe my ex-wife.

A Nintendo Switch release sounds reasonable. It has a touchscreen and will serve as another on-the-go option in addition to mobile devices.
The other consoles? I don't see the point.

Bringing the incline in those darkest hours of RPG times, Beamdog is truly a shining beacon of light and hope for every RPG gamer out there, getting the greatest RPG engine and RPG titles on consoles will spread a new wave of RPG fans thus showing to AAA developers that TRUE RPGS is what people want and hence a new golden era shall commence, and it's all thanks to BEAMDOG !

Thank you Trent, thank you, like a phoenix from the ashes, already bought all the PC Beamdog remakes, now it's time to buy them 2nd time on consoles :dealwithit: :salute:

I am beginning to suspect the whole company is just an elaborate attempt to troll the codex and the initial financial success was just an accidental byproduct.

So get it out boys, who of you is Trent?

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
I feel like the beamcurs ran out of IE EE to do and then realized they aren't talented enough to make their own games so have gone full console port retard in desperation.

Right? They have the license to the engine, they could do whatever they wanted, and the best we get is an interquel to a series that was pushing 20 years at the time.

"Have you ever wondered what happened between the ending of Baldur's Gate and the beginning of Shadows of Amn? Well, let us, totally not the original authors, fill in questions you never had with our totally original tranny fan fiction story."

Playing IE games on console without touch screen is probably a nightmare. Also, who the fuck would even do it? Who is their target audience? Console sRPG all have specialized interface for gamepads, they'll need to rework IE games' interface from scratch for it to be on par with Disgaea's or Fire Emblem's or whatever.

I for one support Beamdog's continued floundering into the abyss. It's the only thing which can salvage my happiness, as well as the fact that I bought all of the original IE titles on GOG well before these shiftless charlatans could bury them.

Even though I've never liked the EEs, I had nothing against Beamdog before they started pulling non-EE releases from the storefronts. Then came the release of Siege of Dragoncuck as the icing on the shit cake.

Fuck them. I feel absolutely no sympathy now.

How does PoE / Wasteland / DOS control on PS4? Seriously, I'm curious. I searched YouTube and found gameplay videos but they were just footage of the game playing, not footage of actually how they're playing.

For Wasteland 2 I'm pretty sure they just use analog movement since you only ever move a point-man character around, and during battle I assume the D-Pad moves a selection square around the grid...

...but for PoE, which allows movement of multiple units at the same time, how does it work? Trigger/buttons for cycling through available targets? Free re-mapping of all buttons allowed?

divinity and wasteland 2 is easy, you can use a controller on pc, it is the same as console, at least for divinity, I tried on both. Neither is perfect with a controller, but divinity is better than wasteland 2, which don't few good enough to play. In my opinion, at least.

Actual product of their own, with a relatively well-known writer like Gaider involved in it: got cancelled
A port of a remaster of a game they didn't make themselves: OH YEAH BOYO FUND THIS SHIT YEAAAAAAH

They must have started development a while back, since there's already a preview of the upcoming console release of the first Baldur's Gate on YouTube:

I'd still play it over the Great JRPG Facefuck of the late 90s-early 2000s.

Who on earth would even want to play party based rpgs with a controller:prosper:

Sword Coast Legends actually played surprisingly decently on the PS4.

But that game's design was more inherently console friendly than the IE games.
