I'd rather kill one target than damage 2 :) Used to love multi-tile attacks, but the days of line combat are many patches gone.
Well, I'd rather be able to choose whether to hit a frontline mook or get to an otherwise unreachable high-value target (Priest, Necromancer, Shaman, Arbalester, Handgonner, etc. etc. etc.), rather than only having the option to attack said mook, but to each his own.
That's what the quickhands are for - switch to a pole weapon and smack the backline.
I'm sure that extra perk point came for free as a package with the 2h axe, while unfortunately the bardiche doesn't include it.

Have you guys tried a thorwing net / throwing weapon guy before? I find myself using this combo on my quick hands / pockets and belts guy all the time and think about specializing him in throwing now. I find throwing weapons all the time to use up and it gives him a free hand for throwing for the net.

Speaking of, how do I apply sticky web to throwing nets? I have the stuff now

Throwing weapons are brutal, you need the ones barbarian reavers have. It also works with duelist (but not dual-grip).
Nets you upgrade at an alchemist, find a village with one.

Nice. Yes I made him a throwing specialist now.

I wonder how dominant ranged combat becomes later. My hardest fight so far was on were the enemy team had a strong crossbow and bow man in the backline. I actually had to savescum and give my pikemen and the thrower shields or they would just get murdered by them. So should I invest in ranged defense for pikemen / backliner or straight melee def like with my frontliner? Two of my backliners have stars in rdef as well

Nah, fuck ranged defence. Get a wildman bannerbro with negative rdef, give him nimble, steel brow, colossus and stop worrying about getting shot forever :)

Yeah I will look into nimble for my backline boys. Good call.

I just spend 5000 on the Scale Armor Mantle and I pimped my Lamella Harness with some fat Dire Wolf shoulder pelt. It looks so fuckin badass. The crafting is really fun in this game so far.

Sadly I found a 2H sword and a long axe right in the fight after speccing into maces. A well it gave the opportunity to make a third 2h bro. I'll just buy a better mace the next time I see it in the weaponsmith.

I love the itemization in this game, as you can tell.

On my third 2h bro I was thinking of skipping Brawny and go for Pathfinder so I have no fat costs on movement.

I thought about Collossus, Student, Gifted, Pathfinder and Quick Hands for switching to 2 tile weapon

Does this work out as a base build?

I chose this dude for it. This was him on level 5.

Or you can push the system by making the fabled FAT NEUTRAL, a bro never wasting levels in stamina and going around with as low as just 15 fatigue. (15 is what you recover, get pathfinder and you can still move and swing a 2h every turn, also get quick hands and a polearm)
This build can make a low talent bro viable in end game.

I got the thought from this post.

Whiich combinations of Masteries and Weapons would you use to make use of Quick Hands and two tile weapons? I don't really get it yet

Get (for example) 2H axe and poleaxe, each turn you start with (at least) 15 stamina: enough to move one tile and hit. If you wanna hit something with the pole weapon, switch for free and smack.
No fatigue investment, so you have heavy armor and a ton of HP.

Fat neutral is a braindead build, all you truly need is weapon mastery (for less fat on weapon use), pathfinder (less fat on movement) and battle forged.
But since you can only move a single title, quick hands and a pike give you a longer reach, that's it.
You do not get quick hands on a normal melee bro, is a bit of a waste, just position better, but still can be useful for a hammer/axe bro to also have the option for a longaxe/polehammer. (as those still use the hammer/axe mastery)
