I don't think the sex scenes would fade to black in general judging by the video they shared and the sex animation story boards (it'll have scenes like Bioware games, maybe a bit more explicit like Andromeda). But you are right, they might completely ignore that little detail.

Either way romance in games is a mistake.

1. For those who care it creates way to much weight to RP anything else.
2. For those who don't care it's wasted resources

Best kind of romance if there would be one for such game is just quick one. Meaning two characters say they are together and that's it. No quests, no windy dialogs etc. At best just few lines in ending. Even better when all romance options are not companions.
