These motherfuckers gave a 6.3 to Rain World without even finishing the game. Casual journos and players are the worst thing to ever happen to this industry no matter how much we love to talk about gay bear sex around here.

Also, buy Rain World.

Making a game 108GB sucks even more.
108? It's 120 on Steam.

Am I really downloading 12 gb of copy protection??

It's actually a 108GB UPDATE.

I had the early access which was already like 60GB

they said you should probably delete the early access before installing by the way.

Really? I just saw something about deleting your saves.

Seems like the biggest launch for a non-action CRPG to date. Have fun boys. I will be playing this probably in a year once they've ironed out all the inevitable bugs.

This is a troll post right? Did IGN actually say that there are too many spells?

These fuckers need to play BG2 and then complain about spell density lmao

i just watched some timestamped conclusions from a review video in the release news post, and I cannot believe that they went with that UI. It looks like MMO-tier garbage, straight out of Diablo 3 or 4. The icons are all generic, neon lit crap. There isn't a proper combat log and there's floating messages everywhere?

No, it's right there in the review-in-progress:

Combat has been improved from the Early Access version I first played in 2020, and it feels much more fluid and flowing now. That being said, it does suffer somewhat from trying to be such a faithful adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, a system that works better on the tabletop than it does in the digital realm. There are a lot of buttons to learn about and deal with even at first level, and every caster you add to the party makes this worse. Leveling up a spell-focused character is an exercise in decision fatigue. There are simply too many spells, many of which I feel like no one will ever use. And the amount of damage enemies do in comparison to your health pool at lower levels can make even small battles really stressful.

At the same time, death has been made somewhat meaningless – you meet a character fairly early on who can resurrect any party member for 200 gold, which honestly isn't that much. I would have much preferred a Baldur's Gate 3 balanced around a lower risk of death, but with higher consequences if you do kick the bucket.

I checked the Steam community forum and it seems I'm not the only one with a problem where it's still showing the early access build version in the top right corner, even if it's the full release build we're playing. Weird, but it's not a game-breaking bug so I don't mind if this is the kind of fuckups that Larian has to fix on launch.

Did you own the Early Access version? If so, did you uninstall it?

Embarrassing question. How do you highlight stuff.

Game auto detected my GPU, and maxed everything. The game does look good.

I did. I didn't uninstall it, just let GOG auto-update.

It works fine but the launcher doesn't. Vulkan version won't launch at all but that might be due to my policy of never updating graphics drivers until something doesn't work.

No, I literally just bought the game the day before on Steam. But I did pirate the game before, the GOG version, but that was uninstalled and the BG3 folder in C:\Users\CHARNAME\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3 was deleted completely.
