If i'm not mistaken, you can't "create" a merc, you can only hire one of the 12 premade characters, you can't change their stats, classes, races and appearance. And surprise surprise almost all of them have shitty stats and awful class and race combination.

The whole point of hiring a merc is to make sure you can create an ideal character suit for your party, so why bother include it if you are not gonna let us do that Larian?

I haven't followed the development of this game at all, so just checking this thread out of sheer curiosity was a bit of a culture shock when the screenshot with the naked chicks is the first thing I see. Scrolling a bit further, all I see is fucking ugly modern minimalistic UI design, cringeworthy dialogues that would make Bioware blush etc. What the fuck is wrong with modern gaming?

Maybe the combat is fun, I havent played it. But with a title like this I would expect it to be similar to the Infinity Engine games, which I would really love to play, which this game isn't AT ALL

Installed it, rolled a waifu, took one look at the in-game UI and went right back to NWN. Having focused so much on the atrocious party and camera controls, I forgot what utter dogshit the rest of the interface is too. You don't even get a scroll bar in the options menus, just mousewheel. The local BG3 simps are a sight to behold, fucking Console Peasant Codex right here.

Also to change companions you need to go back to your camp, walk to one of your campaions, tell them to stay back twice because fuck you, and then walk to another companion and ask them to go with you.

Sometime I feel like this game was never tested on single player, only multi-player otherwise there is no excuse for Larian to make the UI and interaction with NPCs such a shitty mess.

Interesting that Shadowheart has the 90s bush and the Tiefling slut has the pre-pubescent baldy that has been all the rage for about 20 years or so now. (It's getting old...) I wonder who decided the shaving decisions of each of these NPCs and why. Although I'm guessing the Tiefling is vitellus' PC so I guess he likes the loli look. Weren't all the companions in this game intended to be unlikeable in the beginning, in order to develop into a more likeable companion as it goes on? Thought I remembered reading that at some point.

Usually when it comes to companions, I'm willing to give them a chance to see how they develop myself. I don't think every character needs to be likeable from the moment you meet them. In fact, it might be better if they're not.

I've played a total of 1 hour of BG3 so far, so I can't comment on what they're like in this really. The few minutes I spent with the couple I met hasn't been unbearable by any means though.

I planned to side with the goblins, but the drow bitch and that dumbfuck red orc were too annoying, trying to boss me around and disrespect me, so I had to kill them. I'd like to finally find a game where evil characters are not actually retards, and when a superpowered psychopath with a massive ego walks into their camp, they could maybe try to manipulate him to their side by, you know, treating him respectfully and promising rewards and shit, rather than being all "reeee do what I want or I kill you".
