I'll leave this here... Saw this one video of this guy back in 2021 and it still baffles me beyond belief some people can take him seriously.

Some absolute gem of opinions of his from the video:

- Outer worlds is a great game and better than any BG because... "BG old, OW new".
- BG1 is better than BG2.
- Games are shit if they have no VO.
- Ranks some retarded shark game before RPGs and considers said game to be an RPG.
- Icewind Dale is not that great because it has no story.
- Dragon Age 2, likes it
- All the above he played in that one year and out of all of them, he ranks D:OS 2 as the top game of that year.

Yeah... clearly a case in point of another great YT reviewer worth putting even a fraction of trust in.

Mortismal is clearly a storyfag and (selfadmitted) edgelord. It's why he can tolerate Dragon Age 2 and he spent half of his 19 minute "BG3 Paladin class video" whining about being unable to start as an "evil/fallen" Paladin.

How can you be a storyfag and tolerate Dragon Age 2? I mean it makes you just a fag, not storyfag.

He isn't. Even more than many other reviewers he will suck the dick of every game, regardless of quality. Occasionally there is some mild criticism baked into the review somewhere but it's layered under so much corporate shill speak it's barely noticeable.

His gimmick of 100% games is meaningless because he refuses to critique them.

Nah, he bakes in a lot of criticism. It's not really scathing or anything, like you say, but it's there.

My vote for scathing is Zero Punctuation, where everything is on a scale of -10 to -1. :D

The only thing missing is Kirill Pokrovsky,. His performance on Divine divinity and Divinity 2 was very good. I miss the guy.

Damn that's a blast from the past. Haven't played it in nearly two decades but that music stuck with you.

Wonder how many of that original team are still around. (And how many got attrited by the misery of making educational games in the mid-2000s.)

Many left after Divine divinity, the rest left Larian after Divinity 2 ego draconis/Divinity original sin 1.

It's an entirely new team now, aside from Swen.

Took me about 5 minutes to FIND A FEMALE CHARACTER, and even that is dubious, at first I chose a female and couldn't figure out why am I still a male until I finally found you have to choose body type as A (but not B, C, D) as well. What the fuck? EA had normal genders

Really dont recommend people playing Dark Urge as a first one. You will end up loosing a lot of content and interactions because the motherfucker will kill npc's without any chance to avoid it by the player character.

You play on Tactician?

I play on Tactician, in the first fight with goblins, both enemy and friendly AI insisted on running straight through my grease pool, stunlocking themselves for multiple turns. Half of combatants in the fight did nothing else but run through my grease and fall prone, no attempts to avoid the pool, no attempts to jump out of it, just run and fall, run and fall. Also I noticed they will legit kill themselves on disengagement attacks for 0 reason, it's like they completely ignore being threatened.

Yeah, AI doesn't look very smart so far.

I did the Crypt fight and most of the time the bandits just tried to dash around.

I will say that there's a lot of polish to the EA areas that wasn't there before. Though the intro is still uncanny valley in places.

It's still a fantastic game. Just a bit better put together, and with certain pieces changed or missing - e.g., Gale originally suggested stealing the idol from the druid grove, but I haven't seen that. Now he just eats certain enchanted items.

Well, not having the silly DoS2 armor system, turn order and MMO scaled loot is already a huge win for me.

And the no consequence part: afterward you can end it with her and romance whomever you want. She won't even care. CE for you.

The camera really is bad. It always feels juuuuust a little too close or too angled to actually grant you a good look at your surroundings.

There is also way too much crap strewn around. I recall this was a problem in DOS too. You can never be quite sure if something is useful or not either.

All the NPCs operate like this. Though I think it would be different when ending it with an NPC that took you seriously.

Shadowheart offers the same, but with more emotion. Astarion still gets drunk (didn't want to rerecord his lines, I guess) and hits on the PC even if you've only been friendly toward him.

Not going to be a shill but the studio behind Solasta had infinitely less budget for making the game than the studio behind Baldur's gate 3. The later is made by like Rockstar while the former is made by a small indie studio.

It's annoying not having a manual or a class guide listing what you can get at later levels. Even Solasta did this basic thing fine.

Does anyone know if any additional warlock invocations have been added?

I don't think so

Let me know what you want to know I can test it for you

In 5th edition Pact of the Blade warlocks can take an invocation to get an additional attack at level 5. I'm trying to work out how to build a melee cha focused warlock, but without that additional attack I'll just go straight caster.
