I really don't understand what's the fuss about character creation, trannyfication or whatever.

Larian is simply following in the degenerate footsteps set a long time ago by SSI:

I can't tell if 6 posts in 15 years is like some special brand of autism, or you're just that of a prestigious poster.

The game is so tailor-made for braindead normies it's sad.

• You can't see the abilities that your class will get at each level in the character select screen
• It doesn't tell you what abilities your race gets at later levels, so you can't tell Zariel Tiefling gets more stuff later for example
• It picks everything for you, such as bonus ability score and skills, and you have to go out of your way to choose them yourself

It's like tailored to people without brain cells

Just the fact that you cannot see what your class gets at each level blows my fucking mind

The UI is pretty fucking atrocious too from what I've seen so far. You can do a "custom" one but there are so many needless icons by default. Even Owlcat had the common sense to hide all that shit in a sub-menu and keep the main UI blank / clean for the most part so you could customize right off the jump.

Its more evidence of decline of IQ in the populace reaching levels never before imagined. 5E itself is D&D for retards and then they made it even -more- dumbed down.

Do something that's not already available on a companion. But I'm autistic like that, I hate it when I end up with a character that's redundant. Every character has different reactions and skill opportunities to things around them, so it's a game that's made to be replayed.

Who the hell are you to make that statement, Mr. Max Payne 3 Is The Only Max Payne I've Played? You barely play games, definitely not crpgs.

Holy sweet Jesus, give me strength. The camera is worse than Neverwinter Nights 2. I swear. Feels like I'm fighting it at every turn. And as I said earlier, the controls make for a mega-unimmersive experience. A controller is a no-go since the UI gets magnified by 10 by just having it plugged in.

In general, I'm not too impressed. Yes, the whole thing gets dragged down by the annoyingly designed character controls and camera. But I don't like how you are just dropped into this world. I know none of these people. Why should I care about anything that is going on here in this backwater forest? Druids doing weird druids things, okay? Why am I not on the road to Baldur's Gate yet already? It feels like I'm just meandering around, killing a goblin there, talking to a demon person here.

Also, having everyone act like there are the most experienced ever in their field of "expertise" while they are level 1. Yeah okay. Just too much that breaks the experience so far for me.

BTW, why is this Larian Launcher 430Mb? Why does a launcher needs to be so big? There is motion captured astarion sex scenes in the launcher too?

edit : Seems like the greatest problem with Linux is in the launcher, --skip-launcher is not working. Did anyone know how to skip this bloated launcher?

It seems a bit weird that you can play as a Drow, so of course I created a Drow Ranger which I've turned into a Beastmaster. And I've just realised that this means I'll need to have a spider following me around the entire game or it'll be even more stupid. I didn't think it through.
