Also, anyone who plays BG3 as half-ling will be known degenerate and should be put on watch list. Same with animators and devs. Thank god no gnomes announced. This game is going to attract all sorts of degen modders. Just my 2 cents.

I suppose the only upside is it allows modding, which is iffy for some companies.

Some people should have their feedback ignored. Deadfire companions were at their best when they seen not heard.

Seems inevitable that any kind of content disparity with companions is going to make people unhappy, so you either go all sidekick or all post-kotor-style companion. Going with just sidekicks in a big budget cinematic game isn't happen.

"Sidekicks" set a bad precedent, since there's no way they don't come across as C-list bare bones companions and they remind the player they aren't actually companions, no matter how else the devs try to sell you otherwise with terminology (cohorts, sidekicks, etc.).

The only time it works is when they trick you with the companion's set-up to minimize the costs and downscale the design time (Dogmeat, Rex, ED-E, any animal, a beeping droid, Bastion from Overwatch, etc.)

I really just want more companions. The current amount is absolute garbage for a Baldurs Gate game.

Not only the amount is garbage, the races as well, two human one elf one half elf? You call that a DnD party? No dwarf no tiefling no halfling no dragonborn. Even the elf is a boring ass high elf. They could at least have a drow.

Ahh... remember the days when companions were hidden, and could be missed entirely? Or you had to meet specific criteria for them to be joinable? Even Owlcat doesn't have the balls to do that. What was the last game that did? Dragon Age: Origins?
I actually almost missed Ekun in Kingmaker, was halfway through the Troll Lair when I checked online and found out about his existence and backtracked in time. Also, I know there are some people who missed Jubilost.

Enjoy your degenerate romances that come with your degenerate game. This is what they're turning the BG series into. From now on, if you even mention enjoying the Baldurs Gate series, you will be thrown in with the degenerates that love and play this game. I'll have to pretend I don't even know what BG is from now on. Another series ruined by some soulless, passionless, incompetent hacks. The worse part is you cultists have been trained to see this as an actual good thing and will buy this game. Buying this game is basically telling swen "I agree with what you're doing and encourage you to keep doing it. I also encourage other developers to take notes because if this game makes a good amount of money, they will copy you because they are just a passionless as you are." Thought I could count on the people on this forum to have decent opinions about games. If I wanted to see a bunch of shills and cultists and pussys I would have went to a reddit thread. Those people are all over this game, and it appears you all are too.

middle aged Bulgarians with sub 90 IQ sperging out
90 IQ is within average, even if it is the minimum. Is this even supposed to be a diss? You're calling people average? Go a little lower next time. Just type 70 if you really want to diss someone. Also, do people even actually believe in IQ as a system? I've never done a test because it seems like a stupid way to try to judge how smart someone is. These tests should automatically subtract 10 points off of your score at the end for being stupid enough to take it in the first place.

Fuck this shit Larian!

This is not how a party based RPG works!
Doesn't matter how things are supposed to work or worked in BG1/2. It's how it worked in DOS2 and that's all that matters to them while they make DOS3. Just another thing to add on the list of times they used DOS design philosophy OVER BG design philosophy. They don't actually care about the name or series at all. Absolutely passionless

Ha! Told you it will be a sequel. "Connecting the dots" my ass. Say it with me, class - BHAALSPAWN.
It will just be a bunch of empty references thrown in occasionally so that larian cultists can use them as evidence when they try to convince people that this piece of shit game deserves to use the name.

I mean wasn't Baldur's Gate the game series that really popularized rpg romances? It was a bioware series after all.

If anything this overall decline is a natural evolution from the original games.

i think this game won't be very good at all
I don't even know if they are joking or not with that panel but it looks like either way they only want to draw attention with flashy stuff like some shitty tv shows do (Game of Thrones, etc). The sad part is the name of this game.

I mean half the time you kept Jaheira around just for the Galvarey encounter. Getting the extra spellcasting rings (no matter who you had as your arcane specialist) was pretty essential. She was also granted the Pin, if you kept her up. Not every romance in the original was there for the sake of "degeneracy". Some had a mechanical purpose too.

You seem to be cherry picking your arguments to fit your agenda. :)

That being said, knowing Larian, the dialogue will be alien at best, but it feels disingenuous of you.

Strap Yourselves In
I have to admit, the general faggotry on display in that last vid has me a little worried.

(Agree with, "would bang lead writer.")

Gotta say though, those graphics sure do look spiffy. Finally we've got the delicious level of detail in apparel that you'd find in a Keith Parkinson or Clyde Caldwell fantasy painting.

That drunk female pirate should have had more lines. The voice acting was perfect. Should have made her a full companion instead of that elemental magic faggot or the NumaNuma Negroe.

BG2 is the game responsible for romance in RPGs, you guys are hilarious
Those were tasteful fade to blacks. This is weird sex scenes with full anime titties acted out between two people in a suits written and planned by larian. I got my real people porn, nobody needs this shit. Also knowing larian writing, this won't be like the bg romances.

You're not even addressing my argument, I have no idea what you're talking about. How do you know I'm cherry picking my argument when you don't even know what my argument was. I said nothing about the originals. I love the originals, fade to blacks and alls.

Actually looks like they're going to be showing full animated porn. They should hire some porn stars, put those suits on them, and tell them to go ham. Make a custom suit with a slot for the penis to go into. I love larian because of their attention to details

I really hate the notion that because some of the developers spent a lot of time and effort making something it has to be seen or encountered by as many people as possible, especially because it often gets combined with the artefacts that do happen to take a lot of time and resources to make such as companions. Preferring quality or quantity is not a bad thing but man, it's really disheartening to know that I most likely won't be able to recruit new companions as I go deeper into the game.
Also, as far as I'm concerned camp followers are not a proper replacement to playable characters.

That being said I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of having to commit to the same party for the majority(?) of the game rather than conveniently swapping out party members when you need them. I just think it's a shame they went with this route since based on what we know about the game's beginning I can easily imagine most, if not all, of the playable cast being within a few minutes' reach of the starting area so the entire recruiting process essentially just becomes an extension of the character creation.
