PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
Wtf, this is starting to sound like the Steam forum now with fanboys attacking people with legit issues with the game.

1. Story/presentation is lacking
2. DnD 5e sucks (apparently)
3. It's DOS 2.5
4. 4 party limit
5. Theme park
6. Camera and control issues
7. Confusing/bad UI
8. Level up is boring
9. Cartoony, exaggerated animations etc

That is my issues, not hating for hating or anything. It just seems poor. I had a ton of issues with Pathfinder too in the beginning, but playing it now it was a genuine joy. I could see though that it was a "spiritual successor" to the BG games, but I have a hard time seeing this game shape up to anything enjoyable in the same way, just too many fundamental issues for me. While some can be fixed of course, but it's still gonna be a DOS game in disguise.

As I've been repeating ever since it was announced - it's unavoidable that it will be shit like that, because Larian can't do any better.

My character, who I lovingly created and even chose a love interest for him for some reason, anyway, he ran through the fire a couple of times in the 2nd room of the game, got burns and became incapacitated. Since there's no party yet at that point, there's noone to help him up, so it's game over.

I am not attacking anyone on legit issues though. I've posted legit issues earlier.
I am attacking people who think that disliking something is a position of moral superiority. People who think that between a person A who likes the game, and a person B who hates the game, person B somehow has a more worthy opinion. That you need to explain and excuse your enjoyment of a game, but your dislike of a game is natural and implied. That you need to justify having fun, but hating something is its own reward.

Don't do that.

NIGGA SHUT DA FUK UP

Sheeeit, I come here because it's FUN to shit on these normie AAA games not be hit by whydoibother's lil gay ass ramblings of how much he hates the contrarians. Knowing that some guy is googling BG3 information and comes to this topic and reads Generic-Giant-Spider say something like, "THIS GAME IS FUCKING TRAAAASH" and giving him buyer's remorse is what keeps me going. Niggaz like you give birth to niggaz like me.

March yo lil "everything is AWESUM" ass back to Reddit and upvote some shitty fan art and Drake meme photoshops. GIT, GIT.

Obviously if you dislike the Larian style of RPG you won't like this game either.
I dislike most Larian games a lot more than this.

It's the woke elements, mediocre writing and the fact that 5e is dumbed down that I don't like, but I don't find it any worse than a Bioware game and it's certainly better than what Obsidian has been releasing lately with stuff like TOW.

IMO, it's probably the best game Larian has done since Divine Divinity and it's shaping up to be as good as or better than any Dragon Age game.

It's decent. I haven't seen the full game, but I can see it shaping up to be worth the $60 eventually, if you like games like Dragon Age, that is.

Larian is too big, too wealthy, too normie mainstream to make true Baldur's Gate 3. We should have simply expected turn-based Dragon Age: Origins with Terry Pratchett humour set in Forgotten Realms. When you re-adjust your expectations, itz not so bad*

*Larian.LLC reserves rights to completely & utterly fuck things up and shit down your throat until release
Well so far dialogs are passable. Like, not too good not too bad. It's good, it's well okay, it's fine. Serviceable.
What we need is a animation slider.
"If most people like it, its probably good" has more value than "if most people like it, its probably bad", which is what all the contrarians on this forum preach.
Besides, I know from my experience playing that its good. I didn't need to have it told to me. And of course you know from your exper- oh wait, you've been saying its shit since before it was made. Nevermind.
So, if I don't like BRAND TM PRODUCT I must be edgy grognard fun denier scum? Maybe I just don't like X
If I don't like your favorite brand of cooomsume product I must be a troll? Righto.
From my experience BG3/DOS3 is meh to ok game. So what? I should dismiss it and jump on the bandwagon? Fuck off mate, stop white knighting your favorite product tm or present counter points.

Its okay to not like how the game turned out, but some here throw a tantrum as if someone shit on their icecream cone and forced them to lick it.

Standin' pretty. In this dust that was a city.
Look how much they've invested into this gameplay where you can play as any companion as if he was the protagonist.
Now you're just twisting it. They simply made the companions who had their time, money and effort poured into writing them to become actually selectable, because for some weird reason, nowadays there are people who'd pick a western cRPG to play a premade character despite being given a choice to make a custom one. They did the exact same thing for DOS2, which makes it quite a Larian thing.

Larian fancucks are the biggest brain dead whiteknighting fanboys in the entire genre. It's true, here, on reddit, on steam forum and everywhere. They lack the brain of a normal human and will instantly anyone with any crtisism towards their favorite shitty product.

I'm gonna stop playing now. It's buggy and very unstable. Just lost two hour of progress because the game crashes during the end of fight.

Let's see what larian do with it. Currently the comabat, exploring and skill checks are all quite messy and weren't really enjoyable.
Maybe you're further in than me, but I haven't had a single real crash.

It had some sort of lockup when I tabbed out once, but that's it.

Nvidia and old i7 laptop.

Why do you bother, whydoibother? :M

Because its either this, or troubleshooting why the total commission percentages don't add up in the monthly reports, and I really, really don't feel like working.

You are telling us a joke in this thread, while living the joke in another thread. Don't be the caricature that you draw of yourself. Its not a caricature anymore if its the real thing.

As expected, the low IQ Owltard gopniks who already made up their mind before it released don't think the game is good.

How new and exciting.

Meanwhile the steam reviews and previews so far are overwhelmingly positive.

It's over you salty phaggots, this is it, this game will be the new standard for crpg's, deal with it.

I don't know what the FUCK you just typed, little man, but if you don't start shitting on BG3 or linking Shadowheart porn then don't bother hitting POST REPLY.

I think people just really want BG3 to be a thing and to be good.

I'm not a Larian fan, but I appreciated the combat in D:OS and this is better and actually has an engaging story and...hateable, yet interesting characters so far.

It's also a bit woke, but I haven't seen gamebreaking wokeness yet.

That's me, not a fanboy.

Again, it's DA:O with better graphics and turn-based combat in many ways. That includes animation quality, clunky camera and odd UI, though it's obvious they've yet to go over everything with a fine toothed comb at this point since it's early access, not a release.

I believe they could potentially do better, but they just won't risk it. DOS 1/2 were what effectively got them to where they are, and it's simply commercially safer to enjoy the fruits and play it safe than to change formula and potentially fail. Especially since people who actually remember BG 1/2 are a minority of their target audience. It's a Fallout 3 kind of situation.

Wouldn't be a bad thing given that it's turn-based, but DAO didn't become the standard, Skyrim did. Keep in mind that the abomination of Bethesda, Obsidian, ID under Microsoft still has several open world games to release.

I had one or two crashes with Vulkan. Dirext11 is running without problems so far.

Dudes, come on, it's not like BG/II had the greatest writing ever, or even remarkable writing.

What we were lucky that BG/II didn't have, thanks to technical limitations was that their mediocre writing was not being shoved in our faces constantly with retarded animations and voiceovers. Also, we were too young to notice how corny it was, especially for those who are not native English speakers.

Except they did do better. Massively.

There's virtually no comparison between this and D:OS.

It feels like a turn-based Bioware or Obsidian game, not D:OS.

I wish this level of graphics was the standard for crpgs, alas

it's DA:O with better graphics and turn-based combat in many ways.

It SHAPES up to be a DAO with better graphics, we're yet to see a character on the level of Morrigan or a game area on the level of Deep Roads
Congratulations.
