PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
Combine with the now-Obsidian trademark narrative design by committee, potentially interesting themes explored in the safest possible way, and all that at a $70 price tag, and you have yourself a contender for Greatest Flops of 2025.
Is it even possible to beat Veilguard at this point?
It's down to the wire. Carrie Patel will put all her talent into it.

The game doesn't seems that bad anymore.. huh

And the UI doesn't seems like was made exclusive for consoles.

The gun Gameplay looked interesting, for the novelty of shooting a long range musket in a fantasy setting. Otherwise nothing stood out from the footage.

This game is only 20 hours (allegedly).
Wait, what?

:what:

They said it's about the same length as The Outer Worlds. For some people, that can be 20. For me, it was nearly 50 and that was without any of the DLC. I'm a slow player.

I brought it up in the other thread but it's worth repeating, I suppose.

The game will have pronouns, which of course is an excellent sign that it'll be infested with other subversive nonsense.

All RPGs with character creation for the past few years have had some form of modern gender shit. Of course this wouldn't be any different.

I'm calling it now, in the wake of Veilguard's "unexpected" and unmitigated disaster, the industry will rally around Avowed since at most the game will just be mediocre, not barve-inducing cringe.

God, what a pathetic state of affairs.

Yep. On the plus side it's launching between Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds. Two games that are guaranteed to sell far better and aren't likely to be as heavily compromised even if the latter is taking some liberties.

Don't be so sure that kingdom come will sell well.
I think people really, really want a medieval RPG that's not filled to the brain with modern brain rot. KC:D 1 was peak escapism.

It transported you away from our modern consumerist hellscape to 15th century Bohemia. While it may not be peak writing or the pinnacle of historical accuracy, it did a laudable job on both, and with relatively impressive gameplay systems (even though combat is... contentious). Looking good doesn't hurt either.

All these things are even more desirable in 2025. So unless the game is plagued with performance issues or there's been a sneaky shift in focus, expect this game to sell very well and be a shoe-in for GOTY, at least here, but in other places as well.

It's my most anticipated game* by a long shot so there's some clear bias.

*Besides my own because I want money

Dragon's Dogma (2012), Dark Souls (2012), The Witcher 3 (2015) and many more, none of these games had problems with programming melee fights against multiple opponents that don't immediately throw you off by how unrealistic they look
Fights against multiple opponents in those games degenerate into dodgerolling in plate armor. Hardly more realistic.
Dragon's Dogma did not have any sort of rolling for most of the vocations, including fighter and warrior. Instead, the fighter was intended to block attacks with a shield, while the warrior was expected to tank hits. Similarly, the sequel does not depend on dodge-rolling either.

I concede on this, but you had a party of 4 there.

I have not watched any of the videos Infinitron is linking. I would bet real money that they are all avoiding the woke nonsense because the point is to sell this game in the wake of Failguard. "You have to buy the game to find out how much woke is in the game."
If they actually wanted the game to sell, they wouldn't have agreed to make it Day-one Gamepass.
