I don't know if this was posted but here it is,the ending. That DLC hook at the end ;).

To be fair, all the DLC is going to be free so it's a bit moot.

Anyhow, since I got this for free I thought to check out just what sort of shitshow I am going to face, perhaps something between Fallout 76 and Andromeda.

To my surprise it has been a very neat experience.

This of course is with caveat that I only have few hours into the game and I've not faced much of the 'grind' that often comes with these silly looter-shooters and I predict my interest in it will fade faster than Todd's fame after last release once it becomes a component.

But until then, it has been a neat experience. The gameplay itself is super slick, responsive and has just that tacticle "this feels right" momentum to it, from combat to travel to exploration and the sort. The gameplay itself is super solid and no matter what other shit might later bog this game down at least it got this part nailed down to the T.

Beyond that? World is forgettable, writing is laughable, characters are caricatyres of caricatyres of Bioware characters and so far the itemization hasn't made me impressed at all outside of switching different type of weaponry to my secondary assault slot which offers nice variety.

Chances are this becomes tiresome very fucking fast but for the time being the main gameplay itself is extremely satisfying and addictive on sheer good execution alone.

they dumbed down even conversation wheels to exactly two options. Which both are meaningless with no actual difference between them.

They finally did it! Bethesda showed us the way with four meaningless dialogue options, but it takes a true genius to halve that number!

All these years Bioware wasted making RPGs, when they could have been making this magnificent pile of derivative trash.

Bioware is headed for the EA graveyard once reviews for this come out.

Whatever else it is, the game isn't a complete disaster. The core gameplay is fun. Needs lots of optimization and bug fixing, though.

Mr brother texted me today trying to get me into this but it looks to me like a Destiny clone mixed with the mech-suit equivalent of "bring me 10 berries" questing. No thanks.

Is that with hacked flying speed? Sad how character has to fly just slow enough so game can stream content and it breaks if you work around it. Almost like we're back in last gen and consoles have 256MB of RAM all over again.

Tried this with the 10 hours trial, a friend subbed to Origin Premier and he gave me a one week trial code for Origin Basic.
This game is busted:

-long-ass cutscenes everywhere, for everything
-bland missions: go here, kill that, infinite enemies respawn until you kill X dude
-quests sometimes doesn't complete so you need to do the mission again and again until the game decides it's time to mark them as completed
-netcode problems. Even if I'm playing solo, I have rubberbanding, while my connection is totally fine
-it feels generic. There's not a single element you think it's unique to Anthem.
-the story is the usual stuff someone wrote with no verve

Not verified, since I read those in a couple of forums:
-very short, it can be completed in 12 hours on easy, 19 hours on Hard
-late game story missions locked behind grinding for no actual reason.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Biofag: hey guys, let's make a game where player can fly around and make combat mobility based

Also biofag: hey guys, let's put players inside small ass arenas and corridors, make them stay inside a small ass ring in missions to progress further, better yet, just disable their flight mechanism!

Hahaha, holy shit.

Just got told by an old lady to educate myself AFTER she insulted my profession and got a codex entry *How to apologize* out of it.

*While it's easy to lay blame when feelings are hurt, you owe it to yourself to take a step back and examine the situation. Feelings and viewpoints are subjective, and it is important to note that your reaction to something, while real, may not actually be about the person you are angry at. Realizing and admitting when you are not objective is the first step to mending fractured relationships, and your relationship to the world in general.*

So there's two reasons for that codex entry:

A: An SJW at Bioware reached new heights in lacking self awareness.

B: Theres one normal person left and he snuck that in.

Sadly considering how the conversation went its probably A.

I forgot to add how bad is the enemies pop-in: you enter an area, nobody is here, you see something is shooting you and the enemies materialize out of thin air. It's just hilarious.

Anthem constantly forces the player through loading screens

I have a very good computer. These are the worst loading times I've experienced in any game over the last ten years or so.
I guess you haven't played Path of Exile (before 3.0).

The engine is shit. It was never meant to handle levels this big with streaming.
It also has 100% CPU usage no matter how many cores you have turning your PC into a heater.

Ah, another factor on the decline of Bioware: Remember how in Mass Effect the titular *Mass Effect* was Pseudoscience, but at least they ran with the idea and expanded on it through the settings lore, technology and society? (However successful it ended up being)

Well in Anthem they said:

Fuck that, we’re lazy fucks, so lets just invent some magical bullshit that makes the world seem *interesting* then fill the rest with all the tired clichees we can steal. Woooohooi, we’re FUCKING BIOWARE BITCHES!

Guys, don't get angry. The old Bioware is long dead. That's why I said a couple of pages ago that making a loot shooter was the "smartest" decision of Bioware. No point in pretending to make RPGs anymore. That next Dragon Age game? You know it will be some Dragon Royale shite. I mean they already got the flying mechanics in place.

There's a large roadblock in Anthem's campaign that more or less forces you to spend hours completing in-game challenges (get 50 kills with ult, find 20 treasure chests, rez 3 players, etc) before you can continue and I can't believe this game is what it is.

"That thing that annoyed so many players in Dragon Age Inquisition? Let's do that but make it even wores."

Nah, BioWare needed this. After Anthem flops BioWare is gonna go back to the drawing board and release THE MOST archaic, complex, hardcore rpg OF ALL TIME!! Y’all will be like “Jesus fuck!! I’m gonna have to play through this 100 hour game like 18 times in order to see all the content! There are just so many possibilities!! I don’t even know where to start! Should I be a gay chaotic dwarf and kill the Lord of Light by infecting his husband with AIDS or should I be a pious priest that’s lost her faith and searches for answers in the sweet bush of nobles’ daughters before finding purpose in a quest that’ll take me to the ashen gates of Hell itself?!”

You’ll see, it’ll all work out.

You can just taste the fanboy tears as these first impressions start rolling in, all the EA deflection in the comments is just perfect.

Nah. DA4's marketing campaign will be "Classic ME2/DA2 Bioware is back!" now with even more "What does Tali's sweat taste like?" degeneracy pandering.

Didn't the things you need in DAI get rewarded just from completing quests though?
Can't remember, been a while since I played it. I don't really recall it ever being a blocker to progress though.

Yeah, you had to complete sidequests to unlock the main quest. Annoyed people because many of the sidequests were very MMO in nature.

I like MMOs so it's probably why I wasn't that bothered
