Nah, there is no option to make her into a prostitute like in Princess Maker 2. :decline:

So, about AoD. I know it has lots of focus on skill checks and such-
What's stopping you from just reloading and trying them again if you fail them? Player-set loadgame limitations or something?

Wanna understand the game mechanics when it comes to that.
To increase a skill for one point up (1-10 range) cost you 5, 10, 15 and skill points that you get all together from doing quests and stuff.

That means that if you want to raise a skill from 3 to 4 it will cost you 15 skill points, or from 4 to 5 it will cost 20 sp.
Which means that someitmes you have to wait with upgrading that skill until you collect enough of skill points.
And if you spend some, distributing 5 or 10 on other skills that you might need... it can take a while to get that many skill points again.
-On the other hands those other skills provide you with other types of solutions for main quests.

But generally, you usually need to reload a ways back to some point when you did have more skill points to distribute.

And make a focused build to play with from the start. Especially as/if a beginner.
The game is not made to be played with wide spread of skills.

It takes some getting use to, a few hours of playing maybe, but it gets better and better if you do.

FYI: AoD is currently Steam's 67th most sold game! Hope this translates into a nice money inflow for you.

Hmm, wasn't Underrail a bit higher? Like in top 40 or something? I can't recall.

If so, that must've been because it was actually featured on the front page. Styg, did Steam charge you any money for the big front page banner?

Well, nice - will certainly buy. I'll wait for the wave of bigfixes first though.

You're going to be waiting a long time. The game doesn't come out until mid-2014 and until then it's buggy by definition.

So is this the complete game? Or just an extended demo? Also, do you still just have control over your PC in combat?

Fiddled around a bit with an Assassin in Teron, comparing it to R1, which is what I last played - 18 months ago. I don't honestly see huge changes, though I see lots of little ones and almost entirely for the better. It definitely looks more of a 'done game' than before. It's also nice to know combat isn't substantially easier than before, but it is arguably less frustrating, i.e. with modifications to THC and other tweaks, though I need to play more characters before really forming an opinion.

Deacdo: two of the three major hubs so basically ~60% of game. PC only.

Thanks. Will wait for full release. FO1&2 a two of my favourite games, but I never did like just controlling the PC in combat.

Sounds like there is a lot to this game. Hopefully they pull it off.

287 copies sold. Woohoo!

Not a huge amount, but still over a quarter of what you've sold since the game became pre-orderable.

It'll sell a lot more if you do a discount on the Autumn or Winter Sale, even a small one. Consider it.

Only AOD puts out a dozen patches, gets reviewed extensively, goes on Steam, goes on Steam best seller list, and then on a sale, all before release.

To top it off I think VD should release DLC for Teron before the full game.

Hopefully that doubles tomorrow, now that MCA has tweeted about it.

(^ Not bad for the first couple of hours)

((I do understand that doesn't make or break the sales, of course. Here's hoping AoD gets some coverage.))

Have you got in touch with RPS, by the way, to inform them about the early access? I believe they did cover AoD earlier.

P.S. Also SomethingAwful hates the game ^_^

(Or at least they did hate the earlier demo)

Nothing was more reliable than every person on Steam seeing you were a recently released game in that tab. Damn - only a week late.
Presumably it would still appear there later when it gets converted from Early Access to normal release? So it just delays whatever sales benefits until later...

Of course, but I believe before this change a game could actually appear there twice - once on Early Access release, once on final release. (not entirely sure about that though - has any Early Access game actually been released yet??)

State of Decay, I believe.

I've been studiously not following AoD's development ever since I heard about it (through Dead State), because ... well ... I don't know why exactly ... but this announcement finally got me to try the demo. Fantastic game from what I've seen, can't wait for the full release, intend to preorder this weekend. Beautiful work, VD & E.

Not sure if it's common knowledge or not, but will I be able to claim a GOG code for the whole game after final release if I preorder via irontower website right now? I definitely would like to support you guys, but would also like to have the game be available for easy download for as long as GOG exists.

Depends entirely on GOG. I assume that they will gladly give us extra codes (good business), but I don't know for sure and don't want to mislead you.
