You know, I've never actually seen Swansong's gameplay and after seeing it, I'm surprised someone okayed it.

Holy mother of cringe.

It's a narrative RPG like their previous game The Council which did well enough, nothing necessarily wrong with that.

I played it recently and thought it was mostly all right. Too many ancient queer radical feminists and black vampires for my preferences, but that's what the setting is now.

I could barely watch four seconds of this unadulterated crap, nevermind stomach the whole game. You have much stronger tolerances than me.

Next dev diary is advanced combat and weapons. Two things I was led to believe we wouldn’t have.

I gave the game a chance and it striked out lore wise before I even got to the first gameplay section. The characters act like college students instead of centuries old vampires.

They're not centuries-old, almost every character was embraced in the 20th century. The Beckoning took care of all the old fangs. Galeb is the oldest character and he has the maturity and weariness to match.

They released the game because they found it in such a state. It seems to me that Paradox has been letting its subsidized productions run wild for a long time and only recently have they learned that your eyes fatten the horse.

Isn't that an issue common in the New World? Hell, in Bloodlines LA had Primogen and Barons who wouldn't have been considered proper Elders back in Europe.

He'd be ordered around by any leader. His disdain for vampire politics is a huge part of his character, he chose to become a go-fer because it's a much simpler existence, it's all right there in his bio.
