Magic in WFRP is quite different than others high magical games.

WFRP is also probably the only high fantasy universe in which magic is not (terribly) overpowered. Not so much because the rules don't have spells that can (...). No. It's because of the fact casting even a lowly fireball has the chance to open a rift to the realm of Chaos that sucks you in so your ass can be eternally fucked by Slaanesh (done by rolling doubles on your casting roll). There is a minor mishap table and a major mishap table for miscasts.

There are a lot of arcane Lores you can specialise in (Beasts, Death, Fire, Heavens, Life, Light, Metal and Shadow) and being a wizard means being inducted into the College at Altdorf to be sanctioned, though it is explicitly noted that if you are an adventurer with magic that is probably because you couldn't quite cut the mustard to be an Imperial battlemage

My favorite school would be the grey school. Sadly in WH games, RPG or not,, Bright order is overrepresented. In all games, arpgs like chaosbane or in action games with little rpg elements like vermintide 2. After WH40k, I hope that OwlCat makes an CRPG set in Warhammer Fantasy and make the CRPG close to the tabletop in lore and mechanics.

Lore of Metal for me.

Yep. Seems interesting but honestly, too hard to implement in a CRPG. Sadly most WH games have only the most boring college aka flashy fire + big numbers.
You impliment it by letting me turn useless trinkets into gold and then them back after the transactions are concluded.

That is only one use for such magic. An Shadowmancer can just make a piece of metal looks like a expensive jewelry without having to transmute the item and if the costumer discovers, appear a huge illusionary army of bodyguards, become invisible and move to another city.

You know, we the Grey Order wizards got expelled from over 100 cities. This means that the society is greywizardfobic!!! Jokes aside, an WH game where you can play as an shadowmance and they made magic as dangerous in P&P would be great.

Nah. It's funnier if the goy gets to keep a worthless trinket because they have it to remind them of how dumb they are.
