I place greater importance on the gameplay aspects of a video game like exploration, combat, character building, maybe sometimes I'll comment on if the music is good. If you're looking for good writing you're not finding it in a video game. This is why combatfagging is the optimal way of life. I'm the last person to defend sjw shit, but I think the criticism might be a little harsh against this game. It has degeneracy for sure, and it is pretty front-loaded in that regard.

Paladindu and the buck-broken nigger are shit, but I think the rest of the cast of companions has their charm. Regil as we know is good, Lann is good as well, Arueshalae is fine, Ember is fine, Daeran is good, Nenio may be a autistic weeb pepe-faced furry but apart from that she is fine not really degenerate, Woljiff is fine, Greybor is fine, Camellia is dead, overall the companions really arent that bad, not as bad as some here on the dex made me think they were. Orc 'leader' and its tranny ""lover"" are cringe but what Ive seen so far is that their prominence is front-loaded as well, after chapter 2 you wont be seeing that much of them.

I just don't see as much degeneracy in the game as others see. I see enough that I would understand if someone would want to pirate it, but not enough to warrant all the stuff Ive seen said about it so far.

I'm 100+ hours in, and I can tell you, it is a complete non-issue.

Enjoying the game, great combat, great musical score, great build system & paths offering copious amounts of replayability.
Who in their right mind gives a fuck if some of the writing is cringe? You don't play this for the reading excercise.

I mean, after all that time spent, the writing is indeed the games biggest flaw - but the issue is that it is WAY TOO WORDY. As in, absurdly large amounts of text everywhere. And unfortunately, by far not all of it optional.
However, the vast majority of examples of cringe brought up I've seen so far are optional and you have to willingly ask for them.
If you went into a romance with Nenio, you deserve what you get.
