A prestigious member called rusty_shackleford left the Codex a while back to found a free-speech forum called "Reddit" and is now using the cringe button as his site's logo. Many people believe it's just some sort of a weak clapback; they must take rusty_shackleford for a fool! The truth is that this is a mastermind-tier psy-op. The real reason behind the appropriation of the button is to form a subliminal connection between his site and the cringe button, so that whenever a post gets rated cringe here, the Idea of rusty_shackleford's forum slithers into your subconscious. The endgame is that in due time the relevant neural pathways inside your brainhole get reprogrammed so that you'll intuitively join Reddit and abandon Codex without a second thought. "Revenge is a dish best served cold" as they say, and let me tell you, rusty_shackleford is the kind of guy who eats ice cubes for breakfast. Let me know if there's anything else I can assist with.
