Most games suffer from having way too much direction. Kenshi has the opposite problem: not enough direction. Once you're established and equipped, no longer in danger of starving - then what? Wander aimlessly in an ugly, dead world and get into pointless fights, I guess. This is like an old mmorpg after all of the other players quit. I don't get it.
2. S2: Silent Storm (Abandoned)
A good or great game in theory, but the turns take T O O F U C K I N G L O N G and it begins to feel like someone is slowly driving an icepick through my ear into my brain the more time I spend waiting for enemy turns. Pretty cool to play on the axis team for once though.
3. ATOM: Trudograd (Completed)
Not bad, though I had to keep taking my headphones out every time they had a cyoa book segment because the narrator that they hired was one of the worst I've ever heard in my life.
4. SKALD: Against the Black Priory (Completed)
It's okay, it didn't piss me off at all except for the graphics a little until I turned off all the lighting and effects. Oh and the CRAFTING requiring you to gum up your inventory with 100000 useless objects. Ending was wild.
5. Colony Ship (Completed)
After so many good rpgs, I forgive vault dweller for almost ruining the codex back in 2006. Very cool setting. Could really stand to tone it down with the asshole combat encounters though.
6. Titan Outpost (Completed)
Good game, addictive but kinda boring. Terrible engine.
7. Avadon: The Black Fortress (Abandoned)
This may be the world's blandest game. Just thinking about it makes images of the colour beige flash before my eyes. It's very long as well as being bland. Good to use as a sleep aid, not very fun to play however.
8. King Arthur: Knights Tale (Completed)
Drags on for waaaay too long. Constant large combats every few steps becomes very boring. World does not feel lived in, it is simply a series of combat arenas similar to warcraft maps. No sense of progress or journey, you just teleport around the world wherever a mission pops up. Stupid morality system punishes any inconsistency so you will just choose whichever choice has the icon that you have the most points in. Loot is lame.
9. HORSE CLUB ADVENTURES (Completed)
The entire game is fetch quests with no fast travel, so you ride across the 2km map back and forth until the game ends. Got the platinum on this btw.
10. Islands of the Caliph (Abandoned)
I'm worried that once all the sjw shit finally dies, this is what is gonna replace the gay trans woman stuff. I don't wanna learn about islam any more than i wanna learn about nonbinary barves.
11. Drakan: The Ancients' Gates (Completed)
I thought this would be ass but it's surprisingly good. Feels a lot like Crusaders of Might and Magic but there was actually some effort put into it. Full of secrets and sidequests that you can easily miss meaning we have confident game designers. Has a female protagonist who is not annoying, it's been so long that I forgot it could be done. Wish more fantasy rpgs would have dragon riding, it's a lot better than a horse.
12. Felvidek (Completed)
Short and sweet. I hate the way the dialogue is written.
13. Tactics Ogre Reborn (Abandoned)
I didn't play this for very long, I was first annoyed by how fruity everyone looked and sounded and then I started thinking about how the intro made no sense (a case of mistaken identity causes some kids to attack a group of merc outlaws who wander into town and then the kids invite them to their secret hideout and hire them on the spot to fight a war??) then the parade of weird japanese menus and systems started being explained and I lost interest.
14. Dread Delusion (Abandoned)
Why didn't anyone tell me that this was a tranny game?!
15. Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate: Demon Hunters (Abandoned)
After two stinkers in a row, with my patience running thin, I am greeted by a Blizzard-esque cartoon atmosphere and a UI that gives me a headache.
