Next-gen Games : A game from the castrated males who takes selfies with an idiotic surprised / open mouth face and female species of danger haired land whales; instead of qualified developers.

Next-gen consoles : "Since no one can make remotely fun gameplays anymore; would you like to see our ultra-giga-photo realistic-cinematic engine supporting console / hardware? This bad boy can run 100+ GB bloated games with 50 GB of patch from the incompetent devs! We know no one needs that kind of shit, but we gotta make money somehow!"

It's always been console faggot terminology which has been barely applicable to PC gaming. I've only had two gaming PC's and have found the evolving system requirements for newer games to always be overstated and even when the plebs got a toaster upgrade and game reqs changed to match, my mid-range PC's held/hold up well.

A lot of people use "next gen" to describe current gen console releases because "current gen" doesn't sound buzzwordy enough.

Consoles are as fit and evolved as PCs, they are simply adapted to a different environment, which is the living room of the console-tard.

Assuming consoles, "next gen" is the generation after the currently most widely in use at a specific point in time.

E.g. even though PS5 was available since November 2020, it was still "next gen" for a long time because nobody who wanted one could buy it and during that time the most widely in use Playstation console was PS4.

This may apply to other things but in games that is the second most common use.

The first is asking if something is considered "next gen"
