What game are you wasting time on?

Optional, the one at the keep where you get gangbanged by a cheesemob of every strong enemy in the game. They just always end up overwhelming me, even with the NPCs (who just rush out and get killed) and mass domination or whatever.

A very BRO party. BROBERT, Bee the Crooked and Spekkmeister all make regular appearences in my adventuring parties whenever I revisit a game that is monocle enough to let me roll my own NPCs :salute:

BROS...

1) Completed Super Castlevania 4, mainly thanks to quicksaves and cheats (in final boss marathon - fuck you, Konami). Didn't like it that much, actually. Being able to attack up / diagonally leads to some p. POPAMOLE moments (you can hit enemies, they can't hit you). Jumping is much more dangerous than combat. And some jumps are close to impossible. Graphics aren't that great from artistic POV (from technical POV, they're impressive). Music is great, though.

But!

2) Started Rondo of Blood and I'm loving it: art style, gameplay, multiple paths, music, everything. Maybe except difficulty (fuck you, flying skulls).

3) Completed Ogre Battle 64, raping EVERYONE:

Took me 55 hours, but was damn fun. Except the story, which is more gay than Top Gun and FF7 combined. True story.

4) Playing Dark Heart of Uukrul - completed FagMaze, going through the Rhombus. Great fucking game, but at Lv 8 fights are not that tough as earlier....

Started up MM3 again. Cleared the first two towns and first dungeon, as well as part of cyclops cave (specifically, the part without fucking cyclops in it.) Not sure where to head now, whether I should try to finish the cave or go elsewhere. I have some keys now but iirc every place you need a key to enter is serious bad news at my level. Need moar stat bonuses so my casters can actually buff the whole party instead of just 2-3 people. I forgot how much easier Xeen was with their popamole partywide buffs (all rolled into one spell later on iirc.) Certainly not hurting for gold or gems though, so that's a good sign.

Kind of want to try ToEE again, but it;s not even running properly anymore. I think my last graphics driver update borked it. Party and NPC have no character models, just floating weapons. Arghlblarghargh. I fucking hate this shit. Is not breaking existing functionality so much to ask for?

BROS, comleted Rondo of Blood without cheats (quicksaves only, so I'm HARDCORE by today's standards).

Immediately started from the beginning, since I've read in the FAQ learned through telepacy that you can unlock 2nd playable character - badass female vamipre hunter named Maria.

:bounce:

Huh. I didn't realize Maria would look so different than the way she does in SotN. Age difference I guess?

Pre-ordered Max Payne 3 on Steam and got the first two for free. Playing through the first one now. Plot isn't very interesting and the whole thing looks rather dated, but there's something addictive about running room to room and shooting people in the guts with a pump-action shotgun.

Playing through the old Spellcast games.

Currently wasting time listening to a lecture, waiting for the frat party to start at 8:00. Fuck yeah, too bad I need to be a senior to drink. But I can still dance.

Dota 2, I play about 2 hours a day usually with my friends. Tribes Ascend, also, I usually play 2-3 matches a day.
I also have a number of single player games I've got and have been playing.

Bulletstorm: The game was on sale for 5 bucks on Steam recently so I got it. I hadn't played the game in nearly a year, I forgot what a fun and high quality game it was. It's worth playing, absolutely. Dunno if Skyway posts still, but I can just imagine. It deals away with most of his kneejerk reactions. Cover based, grey and brown graphics, popamole, etc. It's a brightly colored fun FPS with very fun mechanics, and I haven't laughed so much playing a game in a very long time.

Borderlands: I've reinstalled since I heard the sequel was coming, and it's actually a lot like Bulletstorm. Kind of unique mechanics for a shooter, very fun, good sense of humor, colorful graphics despite being set all in a desert.

Anno 2070: Have a lot of spare time? I have a problem with this game in that there's never really any payoff, all of the enjoyment comes from the gameplay itself. If you like management sims, setting up production chains and that sort of thing it's a great game. It also has a great soundtrack. For anyone who liked 1404 I'd recommend 2070. Almost 2/3 a year after release and it's still being sold on Steam for full price, which is kind of weird. Maybe it's more popular than I thought it was.

Terraria: If you have a friend or two to play this game with it's absolutely fun. If you don't, it's kind of mindless with no payoff.

What version of Rondo of Blood are you emulating?
Original version (TurboGrafx CD) with english translation. Using non-removed latest version of Magic Engine.

Anyway...

Now it's time for the biggest incline / decline of Castlevania series...

2 hours later:

WTF is this fucking boring, pointless and slow as fuck POS?! This is "OMG the best Castlevania game EVAR"? Get this fucking RPG elements out of my Castlevania game, you fucks! "Metroidvania" ? Metroid was 100x faster and more fun to play, Jesus F. Christ...

:rage:

Another 2 hours later:

Oh, well - still better than newshit PC hits... And graphics are sweet.

It gets better as you acquire more powers, weapons and stuffies. This is one of the best video games EVAR.

Hmm-hm. Dat soundtrack. Protip: To discover spells, mash the buttons and the directional arrows like crazy, no need to buy them at the store. Sadly, this means the spells are not reliable since they pretty much require you to try and play Street Fighter on a platformer game.

Though I have to say I falied my Language (Lunarian) roll and had to google the name to realize it was Symphony of the Night.

Spells are so retardedly overpowered in that game. Fireball doubles as a teleport, soulsteal is just plain broken, and the spirits will rape pretty much anything within a screen and a half.

But yeah, aside from that they're useless :p

Also, no matter how many times I play it, I always miss the god damned underworld section until way way after I should have gone there. It just does not show up on my loot and pillage radar for some reason.

Lastly: Fighting Galamoth like a pussy with cheese tactics is unforgivable. Either man the fuck up or hang your head in shame and leave him undefeated.
