What game are you wasting time on?

Jaesun. Do you really have a life? Seriously dude. This picture says something about your friend circle. You must  codex and these people a bit too much.

I mean come on! When I make parties (although I hate MAKING parties; but that's just me) I name them randomly. I wonder what the other guys on the codex do...

Those are the test characters who bug test my mods. And they are the people who fight against the pop-a-mole, and are on my BRO list.

Nice indie political sim. Pro-ecological, where you try to alleviate fuel crisis by systematical genocide.
The premise is quite simple: deploy agents in the region, analyse problem, choose appropriate social cards(yes, it's a card game), hope that hell won't break loose, end your turn.
The difficulty comes from the amount of info you have to process and random disasters:

E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy.

Kind of a blind run, as I only played it a little while before to see whether I liked it or not. Trying to clear it on the hardest level using nothing but PSI powers and a sword. It's pretty fun. I love the art, though I kind of wish fighting under those rules was more than summoning clones and hiding somewhere, maybe exchange SMS with a friend on my cellphone meanwhile.

So far all my deaths where by falling down really big holes.

I'm totally wasting time on playing Xenogears, man. And I feel like my IQ has fallen like 50 points, man. SO in the mean time I'm playing Castlevania in the NES and try not to thing about it. What a shame. Also I'm playing BGT, like for these last 2 years, reached ToB though, and I'm feeling somewhat disgusted because the design has fallen from the level of James Ohlen to the level of Toddler/Gaider. Also, I'm drunk.

Got Dungeon Siege III (along with the first two and DLC) because it hit my favoured price point during today's Steam sale. Like the demo, it's a lot of fun provided you have a 360 controller to play with... simple and no-frills sort of game but the combat is pretty fun and the game has a good sense of pacing, always moving forward in terms of locations you visit, plot points, and quests.

I can see why some people hated it because it's nothing like the first two, but for $20 I can't complain. It's actually still kind of shocking to play an Obsidian game that isn't completely broken or unpolished. Technically and as far as game balance and mechanics go, it's been rock-solid for me.

ADOM. Once a year, every year.
This time was able to finish it with a high elf wizard (fuck yeah!) making it my third normal finish, twice with an orc archer and once with that high elf wizard.

Not playing much atm, but when I do, I play LA Noire. The beginning was terrible (extremely linear), but later it kinda grew on me. Poor gameplay, but for once I enjoy the story and good writing in general. Also best voice acting since Bloodlines.

You often mention this game, so I'm intrigued. Why is it so much fun to play? It looks like it could be interesting, judging from the screenshots. What's the AI like?

This time was able to finish it with a high elf wizard (fuck yeah!) making it my third normal finish, twice with an orc archer and once with that high elf wizard.
I've never finished it. Maybe I shouldn't keep playing it with illiterate barbarians, but that's shown the highest survivability usually. Until they meet a rust monster thing and fucking die.

Mostly because it doesn't require clicking a lot, can run in background when working/browsing the internets, is on tactical level, is moddable, planning is important, has command delays - dependent on HQ proximity and radios, has artillery and air support delays, different types of armour and ATGMs, heigh map, a los tool, ability to set engagement ranges, has adjustable passage of time, unlike in Close Combat games, the air support is interactive - planes can be shot down or chased away, etc.
Also, the game scale is highly flexible - you can play on a map that is 2-15km x 2-15km. You can field either platoons and sections or whole companies.

Passable. I think it's better than in CC, especially as the game has more polished mechanics than CC - for example you can't find units by following tracers, so you don't have such an advantage over AI - spotting by detecting a source of fire is handled by game mechanics - each weapon has it's "signature" stat.
I don't get the beating up a retard impression typical for CC but still it's not comparable to BftB AI or human intelligence.

Sounds like you're dying pretty early, then. Elven wizards or priests are the best IMO, especially that you can use-train them with swords and stuff like that. Damn, I haven't played ADOM for a long time.

Pretty early. I get to the Arena and become champion and I think I get a sword for that. Buy a shitload of rat tails so I'm set for food for life and then go deeper and die.

Anyway, playing:

Civ V for a few days. OH GOD DOES IT SUCK. But frankly I don't have anything else to play that I haven't played through 7 times.

It crashes like a motherfucker. That's after updating to latest drivers. What now publishing rep? Maybe it's incompatible with my mouse and keyboard? Or maybe it's meant to be played with a gamepad! That's it!

Anyway, the AI is beyond dumb. Iroquois get a neat-ish ability where they treat forests in home territory as roads, except when you automate workers, they ignore that and build roads anyway. LOL WUT? Or then I'm attacking the other guy's city with fucking scouts, and he has much beefier troops, but he decides to fucking SCOUT my lands and sit there getting shot at by my cities? WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID? Once I completely destroyed 5 opponents with two scouts. Um yeah.

I eventually came to the conclusion that despite dumbing down and what have you, though it's nice cities are not barbarian cake anymore, Civilization sucks and has always sucked. Way to break immersion completely when after a few hours of playing, I'm running around with fucking infantry vs everyone else who is still stuck with stone age warriors. A good Civilization game would have consisted of taking real life days to get through eras, not as it eventually turns out in some cases, 15 minutes. Why would I build musketmen when I can wait a short while or hell use a scientist and get riflemen? What kind of breeze through Civilization did Meier initially conceive anyway?

Well, I think I'll give this Anno 2070 demo another try and see if there's any game underneath.

Played Terraria for a while, got fed up. Decided to try the new YogBox, was doing well until my chest was erased when I fixed the guild building (Tale of Kingdoms mod). Uninstalled.

Bah.

Skyrim. 150 hours and still counting. Not min/maxing and playing as a mage means the game is still fairly fun without me overpowering over everything. Shitty RPG without stats but good dungeon hiker. Will probably finish the main quest and the unification quest then move on.

Waiting for Arkham City with an easier crack. Right now it seems the only way to play AC is using some very troublesome way to hack through it.

Also, just downloaded all the DLC for Mass Effect 2. I stopped playing it while still need to get Tali in my team, and without any of the side quest finished. Will pick the save up and continue it as I WANT to finish the whole ME story and ME3 female shepard with new hairstyle looks so sexy.

Heresiarch, there is a normal crack for Arkham City for nearly a week now. Incl. scene release.
But the game seems to be the same boredom as Arkham Asylum. You just twitch RMB and nothing else. Terrible.

Some Anno 2070:

A new version of OFP Remake Demo from yesterday:

And on and off for several weeks now - Dangerous Waters:

Also have Race07 Finally Completely Milked Edition installed but haven't played it much yet.

It's still totally inferior to GTR2, but ironically one of the best games this year (together with Anno 2070)
