What are your gaming plans for the end of October 2024? [Halloween, Sollemnitas Omnium Sanctorum, el Día de los Muertos etc.]

Have you got anything specific planned for this time of the year?

Steam next fest might have been over but there is still a few thousand more demos left to try.

Definitely gonna get tucked into Ghouls n Ghosts Resurrection

I'm not far off finishing my PS4 backlog either, and I'm flying through those games as most are shite, so only getting a few hours out of me before being tossed aside.

  • Finish the last missions of the Protoss campaign of the original StarCraft.
  • Play the World Tour edition of Duke Nukem 3D which someone palmed off gifted to me.
  • See whether Quake 2 is worth a damn.
  • Check if Doom 3 has any redeeming qualities.

Western, particularly Anglo-Saxon pathological obsession with monsters and horror is a form of mild mental disorder. Slavs don't celebrate Halloween, don't rejoice at seeing dead things. Death is dirt.
Yes, because slavic folklore clearly has no monsters or supernatural beings and occurances...
You fucking moron.

With my personal list of games to play for Halloween finished, it's time to [not play any of them and] draw up the list for the incoming Christmas season!

No specific gaming-related plans, but I have been considering going through the Legacy of Kain games again, which kind of fits the spooky month, I guess.

Oh, and I also want to play Downfall, which I never really finished, despite loving The Cat Lady.

Man, I wish we had a genuinely scary horror RPG. Titles like Baroque and Fear and Hunger are more unsettling than scary; Bloodlines is a fucking classic with amazing atmosphere, but only the Ocean Hotel is genuinely spooky - and even then, you're never really threatened there. Amazing as it is, the whole segment is just a haunted house ride when you get down to it.

Dead by Daylight for the holiday event but it really sucks this year so who knows. Probably finish up NWN-Shadows of Undrentide

In answer to Gandalf's original question, I do want to replay F.E.A.R. and its expansions - Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate, since it has been a really long time since I last played them.
Doom 3 is also on the list.
And THIEF!
Thief is actually a good game to play during the night and on Halloween.
