My inner graphicwhore is stirring :(, can't help but feel it'd be better in 2D or with higher resolution textures. Sometimes everything looked really blocky and undersized compared to say Krater. I'll reserve judgement on the dialogue system, i'm not too familiar with a keyword system, could be good if it can still players a choice of options and attitudes.
Yeah, if they want to start that Numenera: Torment KickStarter, they better promise Pre-Rendered 2D. It also took me some time to get over the fact that it looks like one of them cheap Eastern European games at first and I hope that is due to a lot of graphics systems not being implemented yet :P

Why not ask them if they are going to provide better textures? It is totally possible within the shitty engine and even my laptop should be enough to run it.

Stupid graphic whores. One of the reasons I can't have nice things. Looks great, I don't need better graphics (even if I know they will improve, because this is just a pre alpha) to enjoy a tactical combat, open world, exploration crpg with a great setting and atmosphere.

Good thing preferences are already voted, and graphics wasn't a top priority. Seems to me now, people want a "Bethesda" (i.e. high production values and a lot of money put into presentation (voices, cool talking PCs, graphics etc.) not quality) version of Wasteland. Not that their graphics don't look shitty.

And IMAGINATION people, imagination. Wasteland, Fallout and hundreds of great crpgs have had only rudimentary graphics, and text descriptions and you HAD TO fill the rest with your imagination. And they weren't LARP-y. And they were great. But now this graphical trend where everything must be "served on the platter" to the next get to be enjoyable is shit, because it takes away that imagination factor. Look at Skyrim for example, everything is made to the smallest detail, and you can interact with almost anything, yet game is a LARP fest, and shit in gameplay department.

The footage looks almost exactly how I hoped it would. The topic dialog is the only thing I don't quite approve, but fuck it, it seems to work well enough.

Money well spent so far.

The way they did the dialogue system reminds me of Morrowind too much, and not in a good way. I want proper conversations, not wiki browsing.

Perception isn't a stat in Wasteland 2. There is an "Examine" skill, but I don't know if that's what was used here. It could be that the "perception check" was a direct check of the player's Awareness stat, or maybe they've changed up the skills since the last update about them, just as they changed the stats from SPLICES to CLASSIC.
At 4:15 in the video they "select the icon for Perception" and use it to get information on enemies. I forgot about the Examine skill, so they probably just renamed that when they moved to CLASSIC.

I feel it's a good sign when even the Codex is reduced to nitpicking a new cRPG rather than reaming it.

Insert Title Here Strap Yourselves In Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Divinity: Original Sin 2
The game looks pretty good, but the UI is too big.

Not too big on higher resolutions and bigger future monitors, I want to play the game in 2023 and not use mod to do this. I am fan of wikipedia dialogues ala Wasteland 1, Fallout 1 and Morrowind but I do expect some trees later on. Even the rotating camera is not as big turn off I predicted, game looks much like Tactics which is good for me; So I can say it was well spend 35 jewgoldz. :salute:

What Wasteland 2 really needs is a Chris Avellone Easter egg. He's the highest level, has all of his stats maxed out, has the best equipment, & will kill your party on sight if any of your party members are named after BioWare employees.

If you complain about this once a day maybe it will change!

Yes, because MCA hates Bioware and especially Gaider. We know that, because.
Jesus Christ, some people here think MCA is the embodiment of the Codex spirit. :retarded:

Kotaku comments on this video are super amusing.

Looks great. A little too brown for me, but whatever.

It should also remind you of Wasteland 1, because that's how it was done in the goddamn original game.
So? Does it make it good then? I don't care if it was in the original, this design of dialogue system sucks donkey balls.

Don't you see the possibilities of such a system for a crpg? With the small price of "cool responses" that your character will utter for you to read?

Can you post the most amusing ones, so we can laugh a bit (or cry and slowly die inside for the future that awaits us with such retards :() ?

What exactly are the possibilities? Because going by how it looks and what Brother None is saying, they're simply dialog trees except you don't say sentences but words. It doesn't look like a keyword system.

Edit:

lol@getting killed by rats in Fallout. The bane of retards.

Wait, what? Truly not trying to pick a fight here but...did you not catch the part in the video where he said it was implemented and showed its implementation? What we don't know is how extensive it will be, but it is there.

How about a pantomime artist that is trying to explain some really important info to you without using any words - just through visuals?
