And now Notch did a tweet. Maybe that $5000 (or even the $10,000) was him afterall, like someone said.

No idea, but on his Twitter he did say he had donated. That the $10000 are his is speculation, though.

I hate to be the doomsayer but at this pace I have my doubts that they will reach the 900k.
These funding schemes are heavily front loaded with a spike at the end. Funding declines exponentially after the first day, and after the third it usually almost stagnates. Looking at the current pace they can be happy to reach 300k after the first 24 hours. Where are the remaining donators supposed to be coming from?

I sure hope I'm wrong but the optimism of some people here is a bit premature.

Edit: All that being said I donated as well.

OK, but it hasn't been 24 hours yet. It hasn't even been 8 hours yet.

Yeah but he'll get the last laugh as him and his friends over at BioWare are the reason it's costing people $500 or whatever to get a proper RPG again.

Well, if the decline is fated to win, at least we'll go down fighting!
If Wasteland 2 doesn't get funded it will prove that the publishers are right and there is in fact no market for hardcore RPGs. Then we can stop pretending that there will ever be any more quality RPGs and either give up this hobby or embrace the popamole.

Uh-huh. Except, of course, that Double Fine raised 1M in 25 hours, one third of their total, not like you're implying the majority of their total. So if Wasteland 2 can raise $300K in 25, they're looking good to hit their goal.

And oh look, their just broke $200K. In about 6 hours.

If I recall, DF took about 8 hours to reach their 400k goal. So though this one isn't going at quite that ridiculous a pace, it's not all that far off.
