As far as I'm concerned, their forums ought to cease being public the moment the initiative to fund this project comes to a close... or simply be shut down right now and resurrected in 33 days, restricted to backers only.

Can anyone be that stupid? I thought that Venture Beat are serious people, not a collection of retarded chimps. It doesn't take a PhD to look up on Wikipedia or Google what "party based" means if you don't already know what it means. I think we should calm down a little. Sure, the guy made a mistake, a huge one at that. But at the end of the day, he is actually helping get the word out there. Of course we should correct him, but I think we also should be careful to not come as overly aggressive. Doing so may hurt rather than help Wasteland 2.
