It's a hack & slash but there are floating damage numbers indicating deep rpg game systems and the dev gave it a RPG tag on the steam store, so there you go.
The game has barely any exposition and focuses on hands off exploration and fast combat. The exploration bit is quite nice with many secrets lying around and the players movement is boosted by the dash/teleport à la Dishonored's Blink ability.
The combat is frenetic with big emphasis on reflexes and high lethality. You can die easily when fighting multiple enemies. The graphical effects don't really help here and can clutter the screen at times to the point that you either have to run away or start widely swinging all around.
It seems like the main focus here is on the various builds you can do with stacking abilities - do additional fire damage, summon copies of yourself, fill the rage meter to get more stat bonuses, get more regen on hit, or more damage the lower your healt etc.

The environments themselves are gorgeous, the demo level is really big. The soundscape also creates nice atmosphere, especially with the subdued music, but some things still need to be improved, like footsteps, that constantly sound like there is someone else around, especially when strafing.

I really dig the graphical style and the combat has a nice meaty feel. Too bad it's a roguelike.

Yes, I'd prefer it to be a more linear slasher, like Dark Messiah.
And regarding future content I'm not really that optimistic - almost all of the available screenshots and gameplay videos feature the already existing demo levels. I doubt the new levels will be available shortly, or of a similar quality as the demo level.
I strongly suspect that this will be another indie early access release.
