World of Darkness Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 from Hardsuit Labs

Whoa, how long has that been there? Fairfax LESS T_T

Maybe people assumed he was working on Blacklight Retribution lol.

It does give us an idea of how long this project has been a thing. All the way back to April 2016!
I checked his LinkedIn profile right after the tweet and it wasn't there, so he added it today.
The Respawn stuff as well.

So Chris Avellone just tweeted that he’s got “a big bomb dropping” in roughly a month... Coincidence?
It was kind of expected, really.

It's interesting...I just read on his linkedin he worked at hardsuit labs

Narrative Designer/Writer

Company Name Hardsuit Labs
Dates Employed Apr 2016 – Aug 2018
Employment Duration 2 yrs 5 mos
Location Greater Seattle Area

- Narrative Designer/Writer (contractor) working tenderly with other developers.
This might mean that he might have a big contribution in the game's story and characters. Almost 2 and half years is a lot.

Not so much when you're contributing to a whole mess of other games simultaneously.
Why so negative.. they didn't pay him for 2 years so he would spend most time working for others. Maybe this explains why his contributions for other games were so small.

You could say the same about Dying Light 2 or Degrees of Seperation...
Only Dying Light 2 might be big enough project to take more of his time and he did stop working on Vampire game in August 2018 so enough time to switch to Dying Light 2

All this thread managed to do to me was continue my Malkavian playthrough in Bloodlines. Time to argue with a stop sign.

May or may not be an important detail but Dying Light 2 is the only recent job he didn't specify "contractor" in his LinkedIn profile. Also the E3 stage moment and all that.

I think most companies buy Avellone just for PR, cause he's an expensive writer. They buy the bare minimum, like "write an NPC for us" so they can parade his name. For 10k they get this. Then for another 10k, some Croatian guy writes the rest of the game.

Weekly reminder that we'll probably be playing as "social justice" "activists" Caitiff fighting the patriarchy Camarilla. Don't get hyped, hype is the mind killer.

Bashing the SJW idiots is such a pervasive theme here that Konsensus looks like a bunch of Trump supporters. Not enough esteemed hillbilly bashing.

Brian also follows Mike Stout (https://twitter.com/MikeDodgerStout), the former Lead Level Designer on the Obsidian's Aliens RPG.

He's now at Toys For Bob, but from 2013 to 2017, he worked as a design consultant. It's a real possibility he did some work for Hardsuit Labs around that time.

(Reminder: Chris Avellone and Martin Ka'ai Cluney worked on Aliens: Crucible.)

Chris Avellone is arch-nemesis of Brian Mitsoda? Why is that?

...for good or ill, I have nothing to do with Alpha Protocol as it is being developed currently. I was working on the creative direction, story, and dialogue for previous iterations of the game, but outside of a dialogue system I created (before Mass Effect was announced) for an earlier version of the game, my (and Annie Carlson’s) original dialogue and plot – again, for good or ill – are not being used for the game. Any characters I’m attributed with creating bear only a superficial resemblance to the ones in my original story.
