This thread is starting to remind me of the Bioware Social Network.

This game will suck. The talent, the people who created Vtmb aren't there anymore. They're gone, replaced by.....well those things with frog-rainbow hats.
Nostalgia driven reboots are sadly seldom good. Keep your expectations low to avoid disappointment, especially when a "bargain bin" team of nobodies from Seattle wearing squid rainbow hats has been commissioned to make the game.

What incident happened?
The Camarilla handbook, which has now been delayed by approximately three weeks so that these sections can be edited out, explained that Chechnya is run by vampires, and described the atrocities as “a clever media manipulation.” It reads: “While homosexuals are indeed held in detention facilities for days, and humiliated, starved, tortured, and eventually fed upon and killed, this is not the point. The point is to distract from the truth of what Chechnya has become.”

In other words, the real-world imprisonment, torture, and murder of LGBTQ+ people is presented as secondary to the political goals of fictional monsters, simultaneously downplaying the human tragedy and erasing much of its context.

Just because some guys that worked on Bloodlines happen to work on this, is not enough. They need the original team again period. Even Tim Cain(e) himself said in an interview (or was it Boyarsky? I don't know.) that creating a cult classic on purpose is impossible.
I want Vtmb 2 as well but I've seen too much of this industry to know better.

You do realize that Bloodlines released with a bug that prevented the game from being completed right? There is understandably alot of fondness for Bloodlines but in its day one state it was in pretty bad shape. By that standard it could be argued that the original team was complete crap and could not put out a game that could be played through to the end.

Have some faith in the new team and put down the rose tinted glasses.

Its still going on. The rebels were co-opted by the Russians after the war and they have been allowed to do what they want as long as they remain loyal to Russia. Just recently the chechen government said that lgbtq do not deserve to live and advised the public to kill any lgbtq they know since it would be more humane and less troublesome then sending the lgbtq off to a death camp.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut
Would it work to provide all possible lines in that form for Grout's ghouls, except empty sound files? I guess you already tried that...
Yes, I already tried that and thought the issue was gone. Maybe I overlooked some! Are you playing the latest patch 10.3 rc 1?

Yes, this is the newest patch and a fresh game. The sounds played a lot in the Malk labyrinth when they were locked in their cells and unable to reach me.

Maybe you could hook file accesses to see what's missing?

This isn't solely reactionary-leftist behavior. It's a PR nightmare even for sane people.

I was referring to the creative part of the game not the technical one. You can have a team of the best coders in the world but how much does that matter if they make a game with no reactivity of any kind, ME/FO4 dialogue wheel and choices, doesn't allow for multiple playstyles or forces a particular one more that the others, being able to chose between 2 or 3 clans with no consequence of any kind but instead having photorealistic graphics, being open world and getting collectables, eventually climbing some radio towers for good measure and let's not forget floating damage numbers and XP for kills and headshots.
Like I said, all we can do is wait. Hopefully it will be good, no one wants a bad game obviously.

So Chris Avellone just tweeted that he’s got “a big bomb dropping” in roughly a month... Coincidence?
Don't. I have been very careful with not letting my expectations grow beyond "probably will be shit, but...maybe..."

I'm not a programmer, so I wouldn't even know how to do this ;)! Normally missing sounds are mentioned in the console, but if the game automatically defaults to some others, this doesn't happen. Hm, maybe I could temporarily remove the upper sound folders and then see if error messages pop up. P.S.: Found more fallbacks than dedicated sounds and will fix that :)!

As far as I know this was only valid if you played a Nosferatu, Tim Cain wrote: "Some of the most egregious examples included the game crashing when a Nosferatu player character finished a particular map. This was caused by a bad map value in a script that teleported a Nosferatu to a different map than other player characters because Nosferatu were not allowed to appear in public places. The crash was discovered after the embargo, along with the disheartening fact that no one in quality assurance at Activision had ever tested the Nosferatu character."

Well in that case the dogestons should (or end) start with fellow dogeston "bros".

Whoa, how long has that been there? Fairfax LESS T_T

Maybe people assumed he was working on Blacklight Retribution lol.

It does give us an idea of how long this project has been a thing. All the way back to April 2016!

It'll be delightful if the release date is this year and it competes with The Outer Worlds. :M
